Very Very excellent!!

Very happy with the whole experience EXCEPT I feel the last turn of the directions are unclear! We arrived using GPS on our phone and the last turn said to take Double Tree Lane which wasn't on either street sign for a choice. We guessed wrong (probably our 4AM traveled all night minds!) and went straight. Then had to turn van and trailer around at top of very narrow road (scary). So turn right at last unmarked choice!! Overall-so very pleased!! Wonderful cabin and wonderful stay-and yes the view is all it says!! Thanks for a wonderful week!

Great find, great views, mountaintop experience

This place is great for big gatherings. It has a great kitchen set up to do small preparations (you can’t run all the burners at once, but the dishwashers are amazing!) Ample bed space, four baths spread out, fun things to do and a nice hot tub! We loved it!

Great Stay!

My sister and I had planned to have a larger group but it came down to just the two of us for the large property. We barely used most of the spaces. We spent the majority of the time in the hot tub and on the back porch overlooking the mountains. This place is gorgeous and had ever amenity you could need. The host was extremely helpful as well! Beautiful views!!!!

Amazing Experience

We've stayed at this property before when it was being managed by another compant and I must say that this stay was MUCH better! The location and view from the cabin is magnificent, just as it has been but the new owner/manager has made some changes that really seemed to make the property pop! The trees right in front of the porch have bee trimmed, really enhancing the mountain view. The kitchen has been ronovated much to the delight of my wife and daughter in law. The art in the cabin has been changed much for the better as well! To the team at Stonewood Cabins I give you 5 stars for making a family vaca someting to remember! Thank you so much!

Enjoyed Bryson City, the train, Deep Creek in Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee, hiking and the Nantahala Outdoor Center all from this wonderful mountain top house! Room for 9 in 4 different family groups—so space to gather and space to separate. Hot tub and fireplace were great!

A beautiful mountain getaway

We found this home to be clean, comfortable, pretty well-equipped, and possessing amazing views. Our group of three families (with kids ages 3-12) enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor dining table and fire place, the deck chairs, pool table, and Weber grill. A few things to note: -Check-in is a little late compared to most places we’ve stayed, but when we realized the week before the company did say we could check in a little earlier (for a fee). -Communication with the hosts was quick and responsive. -Internet is not very fast -We navigated the road up the mountain fine in our minivans and Honda Pilot, but it was a little difficult to navigate the first time in the dark. Getting up and down the road in the winter seems like it would be very difficult and scary, even with an AWD vehicle. -The kitchen was well-equipped and even had two dishwashers! They need to purchase some more bowls (feedback I already gave them), but otherwise it had everything we needed for cooking and eating. -There was a thunderstorm our last night and we lost power around 9 pm. As of check out at 11 am the next morning it had not been restored. We were glad we were leaving as it would have been challenging to deal with much longer. Being prepared with more flashlights/lanterns (the cabin had one small lantern) and plenty of clean water would have been helpful. Some nearby activities we did that were fun or saw and might enjoy another time: -Renting a pontoon and tube at Prince Boat Dock was a highlight! -Easy hiking to see waterfalls in Great Smoky Mtn National Park from the Deep Creek Trail Trailhead. -River tubing looked fun! -Bryson City is a cute town and looked like a nice place to explore sometime. We could see ourselves meeting up at this spot again!

Made our river trip better!

The place was exactly as described. We were able to get there and in with no trouble other than a curvy, narrow trek for the last mile or so. Everything thing we used worked with no problems. The property on on a gorgeous spot just wish they would cut the trees back to open the view. The place felt like a nice retreat for our 16 person group after a long day on the river.

Relaxation station

The view off the balcony gets zero justice in pictures, the view is absolutely breathtaking especially in the morning. Even if the weather stops you from getting out, there are plenty of was to enjoy your time and relax. The hot tub is well taken care of, there are quite a few games to play, as well as WiFi. They kept plenty of towels on the property and even had some wood to get us started when we first arrived. Overall a very relaxing property to stay on.

Cabin was great, but some things need attention.

We loved the cabin but it was a bit tough to get to on a motorcycle or in a truck with a trailer. There was no where to turn around and the steep road was not paved all the way to the cabin. Overall we loved it though. the cabin was very nice and comfortable. 4.5 stars. Need a little pest controll but nothing terrble.

Great cabin and location

We've taken an annual work excursion to Lake Fontana for the last 3 years and this is our favorite cabin, yet! The location is easy to find and close to a marina. The layout of the cabin is nice as well. Really liked that the hot tub had its own deck and there was an outdoor fireplace (we didn't see these pictured) so it was a nice surprise. Property Manager was easy to contact. Would definitely stay there again!

Gorgeous Views and Peaceful Setting

My family had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Fontana 3. The pool table was lots of fun, and the hot tub was a hit. I spent an hour or two each morning reading on the spacious wraparound deck and taking in the spectacular views - we even had a rainbow! The beds were extremely comfortable as well. The house is close to a lot of activities (white water rafting, GSMNP hiking, zip lining) but far enough away to feel off the beaten path. A very enjoyable stay!

Beautiful Cabin, Beautiful View

Really enjoyed our stay! The cabin is wonderful and well appointed. It is stocked well with the necessities for cooking. The rooms are cozy and this cabin is great for a large group. My only complaint is that they didn’t leave enough of some of the essentials like toilet paper, garbage bags, dish detergent etc… when you have 14 people these things should be well stocked considering the type of usage you are seeing. However, that was a small issue considering everything else. We recommend staying here especially for larger groups.

Family Vacation

The process was not as smooth as all my other trips have been. The cabin is at the end of a very long road at the top of the mountain which I did not mind because the views were nice. The cabin was outdated and the rails for the deck need some work as they are unsafe. Few issues with the ac and found that the filters were completely clogged. Most of the mattresses are outdated. With some work it could be a much better place. The cleaning crew needs to take more pride in what they are doing.
