The service personnel were very nice and helpful at this hotel. The hotel has a nice view of town, the grounds are well maintained, and breakfast was good. Parts of the interior could definitely use some new paint and updating. The wifi did not work at all in our room and was spotty in the common areas. Also, the pillows were very uncomfortable...way too soft and flimsy, and my husband and I both had poor nights of sleep. As I mentioned, the hotel staff was very nice and helpful, however I was surprised that on a night that the hotel was completely booked, there was just one gentleman working as both the receptionist and the bartender. After staying here we stayed at Hotel Sonne in town, and unfortunately I would have to recommend Hotel Sonne over this one. I think Villa Toscana has the potential to be a great hotel with just a few minor tweaks!
Nice hotel a bit outside of town. Room was good with a nice view. Breakfast was ok. Bit of a walk to town, would recommend driving. Good place to stay to visit the castles which are about a 10 Minute drive away. The town itself was ok, not great.
This hotel is a 10/15 min walk to the town centre...there are many hotels closer if you want to be right in town (see my review for Hotel Hirsch). But villa Toscana is much quieter and in pretty gardens so a bit more chilled. Rooms are standard, comfy beds and clean. The breakfast room has a terrace with great views over fuessen castle and mountains which gives the whole place something extra. There's a pool room which you can use in the evening, we had a couple of games with a drink from the bar which was fun.
Accommodations were clean and attractive. Staff was personable, friendly and helpful. The view from the room was exceptional and we felt as if we were staying with family. The only concern was that it was an unusually warm day in June and there was no air conditioning. After a long, hot day walking around castles, air conditioning and ice would have been welcome. But the staff found some chilled water for us and the evening air was cooler with windows open.
The hotel was in beautiful grounds with a great view.If you had a car there was plenty of parking for free. The room was lovely large with big windows and a great bed and modern bathroom .The wifi was free but was sometimes slow and the staff were great helping sorting it out,It is a bit of a walk into town but if you had a car only a couple of minutes away. The breakfast was lovely with lots of variety. The hotel was a great find the staff were very helpful would stay again.
Very comfortable hotel with lovely grounds. But it was not close to the historic centre. For those with cars a parking lot was available. I walked from the train station and it was a good 25 minutes away. The room had lovely comfortable furnishings. Breakfast was typical German and very good with many choices of cold cuts. I have a dog and they were very accommodating. Super service!
When I think of our trip to Germany, the highlight of our trip was visiting Fussen and staying at the Villa Toscana. This lovely establishment was nestled in the foothills of the Alps, quiet and secluded, but walking distance from downtown Fussen. The rooms were large (especially for European standards) and gorgeous. A beautiful four post bed lying underneath a crystal chandelier; a large updated bathroom; a private balcony! These settings were gorgeous! Breakfast was included and we loved taking our breakfast out onto the balcony watching the pink and purple sunrise climb over the Alps. It was divine! The definitive highlight of our trip touring Germany!
We stayed there for one night before doing the castle tour. We found the accomodations to be quite nice and a bit understated. It was located approximately ten minutes from the castle launch area and within a ten minute walk into town. The breakfast was very good and varied. The only complaint was that the restaurant they recommended in town was slow and just plain average. The hotel should not recommend that restaurant. Otherwise the hotel is a perfect place to stay just out of town. No spas and luxury type provisions with this property that you will find in town. That is perfectly OK.
Superb hotel...set in the most lovely gardens..beautiful views from rhe rooms..lovely rooms..pristine bathrooms.. a little pricy.we paid 150/-€ for two nights.for two people..B/fest is included.. also superb..10mts walk to city centre.. Dan at reception was most helpful and gave us tips for sight seeing etc...had a great comfortable stay...
We stayed for two nights. Hotel is off the beaten path which we loved but only a nice 10 minute walk to Old Town. Hotel was exquisite. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast with eggs, meats, cheeses, coffee, juice, breads, etc. Very close drive to castles. Would stay again in a heart beat.
