The bad: I drove from Zurich to Oberstaufen and chose this hotel based on their description of the mountain view. I even spent more on a better room (1st class room) to ensure the view would be good. When I arrived at the hotel, it seemed apparent that there was not so much of a mountain view, but rather just generic hills... There was a small mountain in the background, but when I checked into my room to discover that this wasn't even visible I was very disappointed. I'd specifically requested the mountain view in my booking, as well as paying more for this. When I asked the reception why the view wasn't as described (mountain/spa view) she got very defensive and said the hills were mountains... Realising that they weren't going to offer me a better room, I decided to make the most of the hotel never the less. As I arrived around 19:30pm, I went straight to dinner as the a-la-carte menu was finishing at 20:30. The staff in the restaurant were very nice, but the meal was over-priced and took 45 minutes to be served. Whilst waiting for the dinner, I was enjoying the ambiance of the rustic room for about 10 minutes before they started playing loud cheesy pop music. The volume was changed up and down throughout and the playlist was inappropriate to the setting. By the time dinner was served and eaten, my plans to use the spa were ruined, as they close the spa at 21:00! I did have a quick look at the spa, but it was very dated looking and not so enticing... The hotel charged me 2.50 Euros for the parking, which was advertised as free when I booked. The good: The hotel was very quiet, allowing for a good nights sleep. The breakfast was plentiful and very good! The lady at check-out was very friendly. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, as they oversold themselves. I paid well over 200 Euros for one night for an experience more fitted to a 100 Euro per night hotel... Don't advertise a 'mountain view' when it's just hills. This really annoyed me, as there were other hotels near by with much better positions for a good view of the scenery.

To be honest I was actually here a year prior to the date I selected (since it would not let me select June 2016). The drive into town on a narrow country rd gave the rural old world European feel you might imagine as an American traveler. Nestled in a pocket between rolling hills and the mountains of the Alps Oberstaufen is a postcard perfect Bavarian town. An unassuming hotel built in natural wood greets the weary traveler, giving no clues as to the wonders within. The stone and wood decor is elegant and classic. The staff inviting and sweet, super accommodating to us as non German speaking visitors. To call the spa area amazing is an understatement. With everything from the indoor and outdoor pools to the fitness center, hot tub and cold tub, massage rooms and lounge area to just relax. All of this with large windows looking out over the green meadow behind the hotel backed Beth the beautiful mountains. The room was spacious and comfortably slept myself and my two friends. We dined at the restaurant at the hotel and enjoyed the delicious meal, and great breakfast buffet the next morning. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Hopefully I get another chance to visit.

Very authentic Allgäu architecture and interior. Really cosy place to be. Friendly and always helpful staff. Great location close to the village center - except our suite room which was facing the main road and train, but not too noisy during the night. Downside: no amenities in the bathrooms even though we booked a 3 bed suite. Staff too hectic and didn't seem to be on top of things. Maybe even understaffed team. And, we came for typical Allgäu flair but faced a North Sea evening event ... so we had to eat outside (not a big deal as the hotel manager advised a great place to go).

This was a very charming hotel which was located in a valley between the mountains. Well maintained and the staff was polite and helpful. The decor is Alpine Chic, the amenities were very good, spa area and pool were clean and had lots of natural light. The rooms were nice and had great views from the balcony. The food was very good, the breakfast buffet had almost everything you could want. Very comfortable and lovely hotel. Make sure to put your parking card or you will get a 15 euro ticket. Also, if you travel with your pet, they are friendly and have nice walking paths just in back of the hotel..

Stayed early May 2017 for 4 nights We had stayed in a Lindner hotel before and had high expectations; we were not disappointed. Overall the stay was excellent with only a few minor niggles which were not enough to affect the rating we gave. Not a cheap hotel but we knew that when we booked so no excuses there! In our opinion, worth it. Room: We stayed in a suite which was absolutely enormous, well furnished and spotlessly clean. There were two balconies - one with a view to the mountains and the other to the park and hills beyond. One reviewer complained about the cow-bells; why someone would complain about that, I have no idea...! The bathroom was excellent and looked brand new with a huge jacuzzi-bath; the separate shower room was much smaller but as impressive. The bed was very comfy indeed and a huge tv in both the bedroom and lounge/sitting room. Strangely the wifi signal in the bedroom was almost non-existent but perfect in the lounge. For the money the room cost we would have liked some tea/coffee making facilities. There is no air conditioning in the room, that we could see. I would imagine it could get extremely warm in the summer months. Restaurant: All the staff were excellent, waiters/waitresses and chef - very attentive and friendly, going out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Food was great, even too much sometimes. I guess a little self-restraint is required... The dining room itself is decorated in traditional alpine style which was very comfortable and cosy. Spa: Not the largest spa area we have ever seen but more than adequate. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was perfect for our son to splash about in. The outdoor pool has a great view across the park to the hills and snow-capped mountains beyond. Other: Drinks are extremely expensive - I believe this is a common mistake from high-end hotels because if drinks were more reasonably priced, people would more than likely order more. We would definitely return to the Linder, should we be in the area.

Typical Bayerish hotel with good wellness center. Interieur is typical southern Germany. Nice room and good kitchen. We stayed during Eastern in this hotel. Comfortable and city is rather nice. Area is bit isolated

Again, it was the right decision to choose the Lindner Parkhotel in Oberstaufen for our New Year's vacation. In our opinion, this is The Number One hotel in Oberstaufen for location, service, food and fun and we checked them all out. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, the rooms are clean and have a wonderful view over the Staufen Park and mountains (make sure to book Southern Exposure), even I wished they had bigger bathrooms. If you include breakfast and dinner in your reservation, you won't regret it. The rich buffets and served courses consisting of a large choice of local and international gourmet dishes are high end and hard to beat by any restaurant in town. The New Year’s Eve Gala with life music was also very enjoyable. I would also recommend reserving a parking spot in the underground garage during Winter months so that your car does not get trapped in the snow when parked outside. A special Thank You to Mr. Mueller and your entire team at the Lindner Parkhotel and Happy New Year.

Oberstaufen is a very picturesque large village in the Allgäu region of Southern Germany. Approximately 2 hours driving by car from Zurich airport Munich 3 hours and Memmingen just under an an hour. There in a train station on the main line from Lindau to Munich and a hotel shuttle bus on request. There are also plenty of taxis. The village can be walked from one end to the other in a straight line in about 20 minutes. The hotel is beautifully situated on the Oberstaufen Park practically in the centre of the village. Plenty of window boxes with wonderful geraniums on every balcony South facing rooms look over the terrace and park, and north facing rooms the small road and a bridge. As the room is empty most of the day it doesn't affect too much. The road is certainly not noisy. Check in was a pretty painless affair. There is no designated help for luggage (there is a trolley available) and I saw most people carrying their own. I was reluctantly asked if I wanted help and I think it would be available for elderly people. In general the reception staff was pleasant and helpful but not that always knowledgable on the Oberstaufen card. This is a village guest card and give various discounts on lifts and other activities. It also gives access to the free village internet service Oberstaufen Public so if you are having your coffee and cake in the village (instead of at the hotel) you can still be connected. Internet in the hotel was good and I was given a free login as they said the public hotel service was not so strong. The whole hotel is immaculately clean and well kept. That goes for the bedrooms as well which have plenty of space, shelves and a drawer with a hairdryer. The Bergwiesen spa treatment area is reasonably equipped and doors lead out from treatment rooms to a green area and herb garden. Treatments pricewise are a little on the high side for Germany but it is a good hotel. Products used are mainly Clarins which was nice. There is a basket with a pool towel and a spa towel with slippers and a robe. I had to ask to change wet towels when I went up to change at lunchtime as there were no towels by the pool or in the spa. Understandable on one hand that it keeps cost down but I wouldn't have minded seeing a few towels elsewhere. The outdoor pool area is not large but sufficient. A few more umbrellas wouldn't come amiss. The water is heated but still refreshing. The indoor pool is good and has a whirlpool in the hall as well. Both pools are 1.35 deep with no shallow end so not so good for children. There is a sauna and accessories, steam bath and plenty of relaxing space. Exercise classes are held in the mornings except Sunday. Three sessions with the last one before lunch being in the water. Walks are arranged in the afternoon and they were quite gung-ho which would not suit everyone including me. I went off Nordic walking instead and there is one afternoon where there is an introduction to the sport. The trick is just to do what you feel comfortable with. The food is fabulous and all kudos to the kitchen.I had the Logi menu full board (protein and vegetables) and was never hungry. I did change the lunch menus to the evening sometimes as I found the evening meals a little too big for me and I prefer more at lunchtime than in the evening. All requests were met without a problem. The buffet breakfast and the buffets in the evenings were excellent. Fruit was fresh and never looked tired and everything was promptly refilled before being empty. Great. The lobby area is not large but pleasant and there is a piano player in the evening. There is also a dedicated bar. Even if you have half or full board, drinks should be signed for and check at the end all your are your own. On my bill it I had extra from another table the same evening but at a later time in my name without a signature. Definitely not mine as I was already horizontal clapped out from the sports all day. Just something to keep an eye on. I stayed a week and overall the stay was very good and location excellent. I would say this is not particularly a hotel for families with children, or people with disabilities who found too many steps difficult. Mainly from the indoor pool to the Spa area. There is plenty of life in Oberstaufen and I would recommend the hotel. .

Very nice hotel...easy parking...in teh city center..friendly service..beautiful comfy room..enjoyed it....breakfast out standing...well the weather was bad..but that is not the hotels fault..and yes i would come back.and yes the wine we had in the afternoon was a proper size and enjoyable

The Lindner Parkhotel in Oberstaufen is part of a hotel chain, but the always friendly and very helpful staff who is mainly working there since a long time, makes you always feel welcome and at home. The rooms are very clean, the service fantastic, the breakfast buffet a true delight and if you chose to include the dinner arrangement, this is absolutely first class. The General Manager doesn't hide behind closed doors. He is a very caring and approachable person who is always around to make sure that every aspect of your stay in this hotel meets and exceeds your expectations. That's probably why the majority of the guests are repeat guests for many years. At this point, I would like to thank all the staff members in this hotel for their excellent service and we are looking forward to our next trip to the Lindner Parkhotel in Oberstaufen.
