We stayed here overnight as we wanted to revisit Füssen after 35 years and what a great find. We were given a very warm welcome at reception (I think possibly Valentina, she was Rumanian and very charming and helpful). We had a lovely room which was very well appointed with a great bathroom which looked brand new with both bath and separate shower and even a radio! There was also a complementary bottle of water which is always a nice touch. Other facilities included underground parking, there is a spa, fitness room, children's play room and an area with board games. There are three eating areas. A cafe which is open I believe all day and we had a delicious coffee and cake when we arrived. There is an Italian restaurant and then a slightly more formal restaurant where we had a truly memorable evening. A delightful gentleman was playing the Zither which was such fun and the whole ambiance that this created was quite magical. We had an extremely nice dinner. I had a most delicious fennel soup with king prawns to start with and then a lovely fish dish. We were looked after the whole evening by Piotr who was charming, incredibly attentive, fun and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was included which doesn't happen very often these days. We had a great stay here and would most certainly stay here again.
+ underground parking 10€ per day, suitable also for family van + playroom for small kids, whirlpools for big kids, 20min/5€ one bath + fresh fruits & good choices for breakfast, can't keep kids away from the chocolate fountain + good sound-proof windows facing the mainroad Frustrating points: - heating below the window was not possible to be shut down/regulated by the late-night shift front desk lady; opening window didn't shut it, contrary to the hotel room guide, it only got worse overheating - too stuffy, too hot to sleep, too loud outside to keep window open - front desk lady for night shift 22:00 was not reachable by phone; not knowledgeable & unfriendly when I came to her at the reception - no luggage rack, if you open your luggage, you have to place it on bed We had a terrible sleep because the heating was out of control. Overall, an overpriced hotel in a tourist town.
We were very pleased with this hotel service . The price was reasonable . The room was very clean but not so spacious. The location is right at the center of the town. The highlights here were fantastic breakfast with many choices and assorted. We enjoyed it every morning.I definitely come again if I were to Fussen again
This beautifully appointed hotel is a must to stay at if you are visiting Neuschwanstein castle. Set in a small town, it is centrally located. The room was spacious and the beds really comfortable. The staff at the hotel were excellent, friendly and considerate. We would highly recommend this hotel to all.
This hotel is a chain-like hotel and is a good place to stay for a visit to the castles. There are a number of local restaurants within walking distance. Parking is available. Room was chain-like and clean. Location is excellent.
Very pleasant experience, good value for money.Breakfast had a lot of options to choose,. Our room was upgraded by hotel ,so clean and comfortable, with a real good bed.Do recommend everyone this hotel.
We stayed at the Hotel Schlosskrone for two nights in January, using it as our base to explore the nearby palaces. Our family room was on the first floor of the east wing, and contained two large beds, plus a view onto the street. This was nice to watch the snow fall, and we did not notice any noise from the cars or buses that passed by. We had booked a room with half-board, that provided us with both breakfast and a three-course dinner. These were highlights: the breakfast offering was extensive, and all family members agreed that it was the best that we had over the course of three weeks on holiday and across three countries (Germany, Austria, and Italy). Having a working chocolate fountain, with fresh fruit, was a big hit with the kids! Dinner was served in the same restaurant as the breakfast, and while limited to a set menu, it changed each night, and show-cased Bavarian cuisine. Children were catered for separately, with the chef able to rustle up chicken/fish and chips on demand. The hotel also has a very nice little patisserie, but the selection is a little more geared towards adults than kids. The reception staff were very friendly, and spoke excellent English (which was a surprise, as we were braced for a full-on immersion into Deutsch). They were also helpful in pointing out local landmarks, and logistics with visiting the castles at Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. For visitors without children, they can also offer spa treatments. The Schlosskrone was the last stop for us on a three-week tour of Europe, and it was a memorable one. Danke schön.
We Booked this hotel sight unseen and error very pleased with the accommodations and parking. We stayed in Fussen because it's within 20 minutes of the castles. Rooms were comfortable, nicely appointed and with a view of the city streets. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options. The least desirable was the limited news channels, only CNBC and BBC in English.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights towards the end of December 2016. I must say that our stay at the hotel was not that comfortable. Pros: - The room size was good & big enough for 2. The decoration was nice in a warm colour. - The receptionist we often spoken to was very friendly. - The Fussen Central Station was very close - 3 mins on foot. The bus to the Neuschwanstein Castle departs from the station too. Cons: - We had a problem with the bathroom - flooding. At 1st night, while my wife was taking a shower, the water from the shower booth poured outside which caused a flooding in the bathroom. This was caused by the poor drainage & the small difference in the floor level between the shower booth & the bathroom. We addressed the issue to the reception and we believe they did what they could, but the drainage itself improve only a little. Following nights a smaller scale flooding still occurred. - The room tended to get too warm & dry. Even putting a wet towel or keep the bathtub filled in with water didn't help. - The wifi not reliable. Neutral: - It was said our room included a balcony. Yes we had a balcony but it was shared by other rooms & guests. The view from the balcony was not that impressive. - The restaurant experience was hit & miss. The food quality was average & the service sometime got slow. For the price we paid, the value was not that satisfactory.
We stayed here for two nights on the 29 and 30th December 2016. We arrived at 2.45pm to be told our room would not be ready for 45 minutes. The room was classed as a suite but the divider between bedroom was a curtain. As far as value, I paid less for much nicer 'suites' in top class hotels over Christmas and New year in Hamburg, Berlin and Bern. You could also hear the slightest thing in other adjacent rooms and the corridor. Very disappointed.
