The staff was great from check-in to checkout. The buffet breakfast was delicious and there was a variety of fruit. Gotta say, the Prawn Red Curry was FANTASTIC!

The resort grounds are poorly maintained. The pool has a very rusty and permanently closed walk up bar. The pathways are not swept with leaves strewn around. Staff are nice and helpful.

The room was absolutely spotless and well equipped. The bedding was comfortable and the bathroom was large enough to comfortably accommodate two people. The location and layout was impressive, with the large swimming pool being a welcome and refreshing relief from the heat. Staff were friendly and overall we had a very pleasant stay.

The room had bad urine smell. Complained to reception and he told me he can’t do anything since he is ONLY staff in the hotel managing. So basically there was no other staff in the whole hotel to look after guests. Called reception for 2 hours, no response. Also breakfast had very less option.

Some eating utensils were stained and marked. Over 3 nights, we only had one toilet roll which was almost used up. Breakfast was expensive. $15 for a bowl of cereal and toast (which I do not eat) The fruit was very fresh at our conference but the other morning tea options were bland. It was only a 10 minute walk to the shops. Staff were obliging. We did not park.

The bed was so comfortable, I had the most amazing sleep. I also asked for a quiet room and staff were very accomodating of this (though it's not a noisy area anyway, so I think most rooms would have been fine). However, the shower head in my room dripped constantly and needs replacing. Staff were mostly indifferent, with the exception of an older Australian man, who was very friendly and welcoming. All up, I would happily stay there again.

Great beds

I gave a 5 starts review because I think the current grades do it some injustice. The beds in this hotel are simply fabulous. Regarding the room -in our first visit we were upgraded to a room starting with 3 (in the river block) and this room was excellent. In our second visit we stayed in a rooms starting with 2 and the room needed some update, and more intriguing - was located on the main road so noisy. So in order to fully enjoy - ask for a room in the river block or at least a room not facing the road. The coupon provided in reception makes the breakfast buffet a great deal. It was too cold for the pool and it is less inviting than the picture they publish.

The setting and the property were beautiful. Hard to realize that you were in the middle of the desert. Manager was helpful and friendly. There were two problems. One was that there’s no elevator in one building. The hotel and hotels.com should have revealed that. They had a luggage lift which helped. The reception area wasn’t accessible either. That being said, one can make a more informed decision when given more information. The main problem was the front desk staff. They were not friendly or informative. It was as if they had chips on their shoulders. I was not helped with the luggage lift upon leaving. They brought my bags out and left them in the middle of the lobby and walked away. There was a major discrepancy between what their info map/guide said and what Google and Apple said. When this was pointed out, they were rude and essentially said they were right. I realize that Alice Springs is not a big city/cosmopolitan place but to get cross with a customer when their error was pointed out, was uncalled for. This property could be filled every night if it were staffed with people who cared about the customers.
