Stayed the one nite only because of the itv show . The pool area was lovely and clean but thankfully it was abit windy so we didnt fancy a swim , good job as pool closed for re furb . No mention of this when booking. Reception ok staff abit off . Room clean but so bland . Corridor had v bad smell. Breakfast was very good . Better than ecpected . Wouldnt return only because i will never return to benidorm . Not for me
Stayed in this hotel again this March - last stayed in 2015 when hubbie was taken ill. Spent most of that holiday on my own but the staff were great. Decided to come again as I had enjoyed it very much and was not disappointed this time either. Rooms had been refurbished and were clean and modern. Food was very good and I think better than the last visit and breakfast is fabulous in the amount of choice that is available. As all went well I will be booking again for next March once my hols have been confirmed at work. Only slight criticism is that the chairs in the entertainment lounge really do need replacing they are old, dated and uncomfortable.
Arrived at the Hotel 8 March 18. Quite late. Reception couldn’t have been more helpful. This service was continued throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff were friendly and warm. All inclusive option was very good. Food was excellent and well varied. The whole site was immaculately clean inside and out. The location is great too not to far from The Strip but not too close to be overly disturbed In house entertainment team work hard as do the very amenable bar staff. I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.
Before we came to this hotel we rang to see if lagoon style pool was finished from last time we went in march of 2016. Reception said yeh everythings good now , so what could go wrong. Well it certainly did. The day we got there we were put in ocas as pelicanos was still shut. Rooms were fine besides staff not thinking about the mother in law who had single room at other end who is registered blind by her self. It was nightmare going across for all meals as dark on a night trying to get across swimming pool area without banging into sunbeds chairs and kids pool as im disabled myself and cant walk far without severe pain. Ended up on constant painkillers the whole holliday . After few days it was getting impossible so hired a double mobility scooter to get across to other hotel for meals and entertainment .money we wernt expecting to use. Spoke to hotel manager several times but all we got was sorry 20 times and told him about the discusting attitude from girl on reception. Yet still nothing done.took photos of pool they told us was open and got abuse off reception who still said to us pool was open. We replied theres red and white tape all around pool and cars skips and concrete slabs and paving is this safe to use. She replied yes theres no tape pool is open. We came to relax but then told from manager that from november till july pool gets refurbished every year . Yet we been going to same hotel for 20 years and never experienced this before 2016. As long as they have your money they not bothered maybe new staff and stop cutting corners to save a penny will help.maybe then we will return . Gone right down hill this used to be one of the top hotels but not anymore. All our future hollidays to here were cancelled till we get a response we deserve. Mr wingfield.
Having given this hotel a excellent review before I was very excited to return. However this time I can honestly say I will not return. The noise level is sometimes unbearable. Having complained it did not make a difference. I know the management did speak to the offenders but it fell on deaf ears, pardon the pun! I previously reviewed this hotel as having excellent breakfast. We stayed on a B&B basis and after the first day decided to eat breakfast on alternative days. The quality of the ingredients is below par. Having read some of the reviews with regards to the quality, the management responded saying they would look into this issue back in October, obviously this had not happened. There are better places to eat at very reasonable prices not far from this hotel. We paid for a superior room but as of yet I am at a loss as what a superior room is?? Having read the hotel had a refurbishment and seeing other rooms which are exactly like this one I can honestly say don't spend the extra money. We made friends with people in the next room and asked them if they had paid for superior, they had not and still had everything our room had. Baffling!!! The beds in the room are firm, which I like, but as for the pillows you might as well sleep on a concrete block. On our last day we ordered lunch in the bar. It's safe to say it was inedible. So sorry this hotel has gone hill as the first time I was there was as good. Shame.
Hotel had been refurbished to a good standard, Manager Raul and all staff were friendly and helpful. Food was well presented and tasty to suit all. Rooms even though new were cleaned everyday with towels. This was our second time there and on my birthday there was Champaign in our room, Nice touch!. Location is good, for beach, nightlife and market. We had a great time and will go again.
Just arrived home today after a week stay with my partner. We were placed in the Ocas building rather than the pelicanos due to the refurbishment. Was disappointed that the lagoon pool wasn't open as this was the reason we booked the hotel and we wern't notified of this when booking or at all for that matter (I blame Jet2 for this not the hotel as I know Jet2 would have known!) The hotel room we were put in was on the 6th floor, room was lovely, comfortable beds, tv with English channels & a brilliant walk in overhead shower! Cleaners were brilliant, room was spotless and were given full sets of clean towels everyday. The entertainment wasn't up to much in my opinion but there's plenty of places nearby for entertainment of any taste. Entertainment in the evenings didnt start until 9/half 9 every night which is quite late in my opinion, a large amount of guests went down for tea early and then had a couple of hours to just sit and wait, a few games of bingo or quizzes or something to pass that time would be a good idea. The Ocas pool is a little small and freezing, a bit of heating in it throughout winter would be a God send. The pelicanos building opened 2/3 days after we arrived and we were very disappointed to find that as soon as this building opened the resturante in the Ocas was closed so we had to go across to the other building for every meal. We stayed all inclusive but admittedly ate out quite a lot as we felt the food was quite repetitive, for 2 days in a row, 4 meals (lunch & tea) the menu was exactly the same. Food wasn't piping hot but wasn't as cold as some reviews make it out to be, was still edible. Daytime entertainment was pretty crap, didnt feel catered towards the younger generation at all. I understand that a large number of the guests at this time of year are of the older generation but would have been nice for there to have been a larger variety of entertainment. Overall we had a good stay and would probably return but in the summer when hopefully the hotel is a bit more lively entertainment wise and both resturantes are open.
Came home to this lovely weather yesterday....stayed at the sol pelicanos ocas for 5 nights bed and breakfast....had a superior room which was immaculate...maid service everyday......brilliant shower ....didn't get the superior title but a nice clean room with a good night's sleep....breakfast was 4star I'd say...all freshly cooked ..plenty of choice.....lovely fresh fruit...great base for beach and nightlife...all the staff we encountered were more than pleasant and helpfull.....jet 2 resort check-in is a must!!!!! We will definitely be booking up at this hotel again this year....would recommend!
Arrive at hotel, check in was quick & easy. Give room on 6th floor, love the walk in shower. Stay all inclusive. Food was good. staff work very hard. Very good location. will return in September 2018.
We have just returned and felt the need to put something in writing, we were placed in this hotel instead of the pelicanos but we found it to no problem at all. The rooms very clean and crisp looking with the maid in our room every day with nothing being too much trouble, the food was served in the restaurant in the main hotel and we found the standard and choice too be good and again the staff were really pleasant although lots of people were complaining about drinks and having to pay for them but we had drinks and were more than happy to pay. Overall we both feel that we had a wonderful time so a huge thank you to all at the sol pelicanos orca and would not hesitate to either recommend or re visit.
