This is a very lovely hotel, very comfortable with fab pools and an amazing spa. It surpassed my expectations. I would like to praise Sulviu and Helena on reception who were so very helpful. HOWEVER, if you are not very mobile, it is quite a distance out of Altea. We went through the garden and walked along the beach to El Portet and then crossed at the lights following a private road into Altea. It took about 3/4 hour. The cafes Sant and El Portet some 10 mins from the hotel served an excellent orange juice and paella. The spa was superb, there were only 4-8 there and we had 2 hrs there. It costs 40 euro for 2 and is well worth it. We had dinner here and it was fine, not cheap but not crazy either. I'm sure this is paradise in sunny weather, just be aware of its position.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Gadea. It is well located outside the town and is well positioned for the regular tram service. Our room was very comfortable, very well equipped and kept clean. The staff were on the whole extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb and catered for every palate with a vast selection of quality products. The Japanese restaurant served fantastic food of great quality and you would expect to pay a reasonable price for this quality food. The other restaurants too were pleasant with reasonably priced food. Overall an excellent experience.

This hotel was once owned by another company and SH bought it and I believe the prices remained the same (or higher) and the quality deteriorated. There is a very high priced Japanese Restaurant in the hotel which I am told is very good but there are other Japanese Restaurants around that are much cheaper with excellent service and quality of food too. It is a big hotel with a maze of seating and pools outside and it overlooks the sea itself so if you ask for a sea view - it’s what you get. Probably the only hotel of its type in Altea (Big Chain) but it is often very quiet with little atmosphere and few staff. They also have music on some Saturdays in the main bar but drinks are expensive.

This is a nice big resort with a lot of space, several restaurants and have both spa and gym. The outside area is also big with several swimming pools, one of them very good even for small children. We had the junior suite with two rooms, two bath room and a terrace facing the outside area and with good view to the sea. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the service is swift. In general, the hotel is very nice and in good shape, although some of the facilities need some maintenance (the hand bar in a lift was loose, the towel bar in the bath room was loose, some cracks and missing paint).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Gadea for New Year’s Eve. The attention we received was amazing considering that the hotel was quite full. Carmen, at the reception desk couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was pleasant. We had dinner in Kitsume restaurant and the Japanese food was excellent. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. We will be back!

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for Christmas 2017. This time we stayed in other wing of the hotel which we haven’t been in before. This room had wonderful views out to the altea town, and the sea and also to the mountains. We recommend room no 1312 very much. It was also perfect to catch the last of the rays of sun during the winter too. Christmas Eve dinner in the hotel was also excellent. We had dinner in the Miramar restaurant and the menu was simply delicious and the team who looked after us were so very attentive. And special thanks to the manager whom gave us a wonderful welcome and looked after us and made it a special experience yet again. Another wonderful stay at this great hotel , all the team who work there are so friendly and welcoming, and we would thoroughly recommend it if you looking for a top quality hotel in Altea. Also special thanks to Carmen on the customer reception desk for helping to make our stay so pleasant. We are looking forward to staying with you again next year.

The hotel is large and during the off season very quiet. The superior room that we had was on the ground floor facing the pools and apart from the smell of smoking when first opening the doors, was well laid out with plenty of space. Bathroom was large and extras such as bathrobes and slippers together with walk in shower and Jacuzzi gave a good impression. The towels were clean but well used and hard. Bed was large and comfortable. Reception and bar area very clean and welcoming with attentive and efficient staff. Breakfast buffet was impressive and with the small numbers of guests, very relaxing. With a capacity of some 600 persons one can only guess that this area could become very different during high season. A good international four star but an acceptable Spanish five star.

Stayed here for a week from Nov 4th to 11th as a couple looking for a 'plonk down' holiday, prior to the stresses ahead. It served our purposes well. There was little in the way of hotel entertainment, which is to be expected out of season. The pools and surrounding walkways were idyllic. However only one pool was heated and, to our knowledge, for only one of the days we ventured in. This was a bit of a disappointment. We stayed in a standard double room, which was just ok; Comfortable bed, always cleaned to a high standard, but the furnishings could do with a spruce. Each room has a spa bath, which was a welcome surprise, but it needed a bit of a re-fit, as some of the fixings would float off mid-bath! Had lunch and dinner in the buffet restaurant. A nice selection, which could have done with replenishing a little more often. The staff were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Again, it just lacked that little bit of polish you might expect with a 5* hotel. The hotel is quite remote; one of the reasons we chose it. The nearest shop is around a ten minute walk to L'Olla. The tram station is a similar walk (left out of the hotel and first road on the right). It is easy and cheap to travel to nearby areas such as Benidorm (I wouldn't bother again!), Calpe for good seafood, or Altea old town for nice shops and great restaurants nearer to the beautiful cathedral. Tickets can be bought on the tram, and its a great way to get around. Be aware that last trains are around 10.30pm. Over all we had a nice relaxing stay, without any troubles. The staff were wonderful and so helpful with directions and helping out with transfers etc. We would stay again if we were in the region.

The hotel is nicely located by the ocean. This was perfect for running along the coast and swimming in the ocean, which in October was still very pleasant as the water was still very warm! The pool area was lovely, and we spent a lot of time here. The hotel gave us some complimentary fruit one evening as it was my girlfriend's birthday, which was very thoughtful! All in all we had a really good time here, but the hotel unfortunately lacks in a few areas. The service is not quite there. It's friendly, but not quite what is expected from a 5 star hotel. Other than that the biggest letdown was the spa area. I knew access wasn't included when booking the hotel, but to charge about €50 for two people, including a swimming cap which was mandatory, is just ridiculous. You could hear other guests talking about how annoyed they were over this, and surprise surprise, the spa was more or less totally empty during the 3 days we spent at the hotel. If you want to charge for spa access at least make it affordable, as the current prices are an insult to your guests, and it's also the reason why I choose to only rate the hotel 3 (it would've been a 4 otherwise).

Really nice place, wonderful staff from reception to restaurants. Do enjoy the fantastic pool! Nice breakfast. Take a seaside room and a car is recommended. Only minus bar/pool restaurant closed due to off season. Tip morning run to Altea along the seaside. Lovely!
