We're wedding planners, and we work a lot with this hotel, and it's very difficult to say anything bad about this hotel. The location... Superb. The infrastructure... Great. The service... 5* What else is there to say ? Highly recommended
It has three nice pools, The food and service were okay but really not worth the money at peak season. It just seemed short staffed and to be perfectly frank it didn't leave us feeling extremely positive but the pool was nice and remember the beach is almost unusable due to the rocks round and in the sea.
The hotel is impressive from entering the foyer, to efficient reception, well maintained gardens & pools to the rooms. We hired a car and so parked outside the hotel in the public bays for free, to park within the garage of the hotel costs 11 Euros per night. Our room had a lovely sea view, overlooking the pools. At the time of our visit it was early in the season so the hotel was quiet, but the weather was much warmer than the UK so it was very pleasant to wander around. The hotel is approx. 1 mile from the main high street in Altea, we explored quite a bit having use of the car. The old town is very nice, quaint. Altea Hills overlooking the area are very nice. The sea front seems to be a "development in progress" and by looking at other resorts nearby it could easily become more commercial
Wonderful few days spent at this hotel , great front of desk staff Lovely breakfast Delicious Japanese restaurant And very clean bedroom and hotel areas Highly recommend this hotel for both a mini break and family holiday
I visited the hotel on my own in January then my husband visited in February and this hotel is a real find (going together soon). The best thing about this hotel apart from the beautiful location, the cleanliness, the beautiful pools is the staff. Everyone we came across were more than helpful, friendly and extremely professional. Nothing was too much trouble. The spa is also top class. The views are amazing. This is a place that you can go alone and not feel 'alone'. Kick back, relax and enjoy!!!!
We have spent one enjoyable week in Villa Gadea last summer. Great views from the balcony, spacious and clean rooms. Staff was very friendly and always very welcoming. There were small kids in our group and they really enjoyed the pool, which is 100% kids ready with a shallow accessible entry. Adults have enjoyed pool bar nearby :) Food was good but not outstanding, it could use some improvements. Although it seems that it is beach hotel - it actually at the beach but You will need to talk 5-10mins walk to get to the beach. It nice, clean but rocky. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back there, as Altea is one of the most charming villages I have been to.
Great stay. Staff very helpful. Very clean. Great selection of food at the buffet. Ate in the Japanese restaurant too which was fine (I actually preferred the buffet but that’s just me). It’s a long walk into town (I loved the old town, well worth the effort) which is not perfect but I knew that when I booked. There’s no path near the beach either so it’s a walk along the very busy road, or a taxi I guess!
This is a very lovely hotel, very comfortable with fab pools and an amazing spa. It surpassed my expectations. I would like to praise Sulviu and Helena on reception who were so very helpful. HOWEVER, if you are not very mobile, it is quite a distance out of Altea. We went through the garden and walked along the beach to El Portet and then crossed at the lights following a private road into Altea. It took about 3/4 hour. The cafes Sant and El Portet some 10 mins from the hotel served an excellent orange juice and paella. The spa was superb, there were only 4-8 there and we had 2 hrs there. It costs 40 euro for 2 and is well worth it. We had dinner here and it was fine, not cheap but not crazy either. I'm sure this is paradise in sunny weather, just be aware of its position.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Gadea. It is well located outside the town and is well positioned for the regular tram service. Our room was very comfortable, very well equipped and kept clean. The staff were on the whole extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb and catered for every palate with a vast selection of quality products. The Japanese restaurant served fantastic food of great quality and you would expect to pay a reasonable price for this quality food. The other restaurants too were pleasant with reasonably priced food. Overall an excellent experience.
This hotel was once owned by another company and SH bought it and I believe the prices remained the same (or higher) and the quality deteriorated. There is a very high priced Japanese Restaurant in the hotel which I am told is very good but there are other Japanese Restaurants around that are much cheaper with excellent service and quality of food too. It is a big hotel with a maze of seating and pools outside and it overlooks the sea itself so if you ask for a sea view - it’s what you get. Probably the only hotel of its type in Altea (Big Chain) but it is often very quiet with little atmosphere and few staff. They also have music on some Saturdays in the main bar but drinks are expensive.
