Retro house in a lovely area
The house is ideally located in walking distance to the old and new towns and by a lovely river where you can swim. It also has parking which was really useful. The house is quite "retro", so doesn't have mod cons like a dishwasher. The three doubles were a good size but the twin room is a bit small for two adults (we ended up with a suitcase in the hall).
Richard is a very hands-on host who treated us like old friends from the moment we arrived. He was very helpful and eager to please, offering advice on everything from where to get the best croissants to the best way to sleep. He will go above and beyond to make sure you feel WELCOME!

Great location and perfect for my family
My wife has long wanted to see Carcassonne so finding that perfect house was no easy task. Her list of demands were that she wanted to see the western side of the fortress. We decided on this house.
The house is located next to the River Aude in a great location. A walk across the bridge nearby and through the medieval village will take you to La Cité. Quite dramatic upon arrival.
Upon arriving we met the owner who showed us around and was more than willing to give recommendations. There was parking (great because a car is recommended if in Carcassonne should you wish to go anywhere like the Cathar castles in the area). There is a nice little yard leading to a glassed patio area (well used by us). Inside there is a nice open concept layout with kitchen, living room and dining room - plenty of space. A shower/laundry room and powder room finished off the first floor. Upstairs there are four nice sized bedrooms (2 with a balcony with views of La Cité) and a full bathroom. The house was clean and stocked with glasses, silverware and plates as well as some pots and pans for cooking. My daughters were happy to find a TV with cartoons (though they didn't watch it much) . There are several restaurants nearby and a Carrefour for groceries about a 10 minute walk away.
The owner is certainly hands on and quite talkative. He will also ensure that you have everything you need. We asked for an extra towel which was promptly provided.
In all the view is great, the location perfect. For a four bedroom house the price is certainly good value. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will be looking forward to returning in the near future.

Ideal location
The house is situated right on the Aude and its walking path with a wonderful view of the medieval Cite. There is a footbridge across the river and you are soon walking under the ramparts and up into the Cite. From the front door you are a short walk into the Bastide, the heart of Carcassone and the Place Carnot with its cafes, or onto the banks of the Canal du Midi where you can rent bikes or go for a leisurely boat ride.
The house itself has been redone, a fairly basic kitchen and a living room on the ground floor, 4 BRs upstairs two of which with balconies which look out to the Cite. The owner, Richard, lives nearby and is eager to help, to offer suggestions for restaurants or nearby places to visit. A wonderful stay, we hope to come back soon.

Petit week-end en famille
Très bien située à mi chemin entre la cité médiévale et la bastide Saint-Louis, la maison était très bien chauffée avec le temps humide et froid de notre week-end. Richard, le propriétaire très chaleureux et serviable, a plein d'anecdotes à raconter et de bonnes adresses à proposer.

C’est un passionné de l’histoire, de la gastronomie et de la vie de Carcassonne et sa région qui vous accueille. Vous avez envie dès l’arrivée de tout découvrir...
Sur place, tout peut se faire à pied, des visites historiques aux restaurants, en passant par les petits achats de la vie courante.
Pour des raisons familiales, nous avons été contraints d’écourter notre séjour, mais nous reviendrons dès que possible terminer les découvertes dont nous a si élégamment parlé Richard.

Un lugar donde regresar!
Hemos disfrutado de esta amplia y acogedora casa al máximo. Ubicada en una zona tranquila y silenciosa, junto al rio, y a la vez muy cerca de La Cite y del centro.
No le falta ningún detalle, menage completo, sofá cómodo y enorme, camas excelentes. Calefacción estupenda.
El propietario Richard, nos hizo sentir muy bien recibidos, es muy atento y dispuesto a solucionar cualquier eventualidad.
Le agradecemos su cortesía y el permitirnos usar su propiedad en nuestras vacaciones.
Nos fuimos con el deseo de regresar de nuevo!

Excellent week-end dans un cadre magnifique
Une grande et belle maison, spacieuse, idéalement placée (10 mn à pieds de la cité) et face à un grand parc (top avec les enfants!).
Un hôte chaleureux et une maison à recommander pour week-ends et séjours en famille ou entre amis. Nous étions 4 adultes et 4 enfants et il y avait de la place pour tout le monde. A découvrir absolument et sans modération !

Bien agréable maison que celle de Richard!
Idéalement située au bord de l'Aude,dans un quartier des plus paisibles,elle offre une vue imprenable sur la ville haute.....il suffit de passer le pont (comme dit la chanson)et c'est de suite la cité....environ 10 mns à pied....la ville basse est tout aussi proche et bien agréable le samedi,jour de marché.Nous avons apprécié ce séjour "tout à pied"dans une maison aux larges espaces ,des plus confortables pour 9 personnes...La blanquette de Limoux gentillement offerte par Richard fut très appréciée!!!!Recommandons la ballade fluviale sur le canal du midi au bord du Cocagne , la visite guidée de la cité et surtout celle du chateau et ses remparts.Magnifique!!!!Bon séjour à tous!

La découverte de Carcassonne à porter de mains.
Une fois la voiture garée, un havre de paix entre le château de Carcassonne et la cité, les deux à 10 minutes à pied. Agréable maison dans un cadre naturel (jardin, rivière, halage pour le sport ou la balade.....).
Pour les amoureux de la nature et de l'histoire, les conseils du propriétaire sont un plus.
A ne pas manquer.

Super bien placée et confortable
Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans une location particulièrement spacieuse, confortable et idéalement placée.
Certains éléments de confort comme à la maison : chambres très agréables avec balcon vue sur la cité, salon grand confort et petit jardin très agréable.
Cité ou centre-ville accessible à pied en 10 mn à pied
Bord d Aude particulièrement agréable pour dès ballades avec le chien
Personnalité du propriétaire très attachante, plein de bon conseil
