Large double bed room on the ground floor was ideal for me as I have a knee problem.very spacious up to date on suite with a powerful shower over the bath. Comfortable bed a a variety of cushions tastefully ,but simply decorated. Fresh and warm
Great hotel to stay at for business, rooms clean and spacious. Wifi works well in rooms. Bar and restaurant area very nice, recently refurbished Breakfast was good, would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Went with a group (about 18 of us) and had their 3 course lunch with coffee for £11.95 per head. Buffet style so you help yourselves choice of salad or soup for starters with a roll & butter. Four mains - beef, chicken, fish & pasta with good selection of vegs. Puds choice of crème brulee, jelly, fresh fruit salad, lemon tart, or eaton mess cheesecake which was really yummee! We had two lovely round tables with white tablecloths which made it feel a bit special.
Whilst we arrived an hour early, the receptionist who was lovely, gave us our keys and said it was not a problem. When we got to our room it had not been made up and was still dirty from the previous night, so we went to the bar until this was rectified an hour later. The room was practical and almost clean. We retired for bed about 12.30pm after returning from a concert in the area. At 5.45 we were woken up by creaking floorboards/banging from the next room. The occupants left approx 6.30pm. We settled down for more much needed sleep, when the housekeeper decided to hoover outside our room. We gave up getting any rest and went to breakfast. Staff were very nice, however I had fresh fruit and yoghurt and imagine my surprise when I found a long dark hair in it. (not my colour). The receptionist and staff in dining area were lovely, though I did notice the waiting staff had not got their hair tied up( maybe the source of the hair?). We will not return here. No rest, basic room for price paid, and hygiene not the standard I expect.
I have stayed in a few B @ B's, Hotels etc with my (well behaved) dogs and we are usually given a shoddy room! Not here though it was very clean, bright and airy. Beds with freshly laundered sheets daily and a modern bathroom made our stay very enjoyable. The staff made a fuss of my two collies whenever they saw them adding to our delight. The breakfast was superb a great selection from full english, cereals croissants fruit yoghurts etc etc. We did not have the evening meal although the menu was tempting. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area and we look forward to staying again next year.
Stayed for a 3 night break to be near both Stratford upon Avon and the Cotswold villages. We had a premier double room which had a king sized bed which was too soft for our personal liking. The room was a good size with enough hanging and shelving space for a short break. There was also a couple of chairs for seating. Tea, coffee, biscuits provided. Wi Fi was free and worked reasonably well. Good sized bathroom with both bath and shower. Heated towel rail and the usual toiletries. Towels changed on request. Breakfast was buffet style with plentiful fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts and the usual fried items. All very tasty. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings and found there was a good choice and the food was nicely presented and tasted good. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Ample parking on site. This hotel is well situated for visiting Stratford and the Cotswolds and being out of the main 'touristy' area is also cheaper. There is another pub/restaurant within 5 minutes walk if you don't want to eat at the hotel otherwise you would need to drive elsewhere to eat. We would certainly stay here again if we decide to return to the area.
Friendly staff, very good size room & very comfortable huge bed, asked for fresh milk for tea - no problem. Plenty of parking too. Would stay here again Only downfalls were where we were sat for Dinner as the restaurant felt like a corridor with lots of people passing through past our table to the bar. Restaurant didn't have the same ambience as the cosy bar area. Also, the actual breakfast the next morning was very good but the organisation of actually going up to the buffet area is very cramped when only a few people in the area. My husband nearly dropped the lot when another guest pushed past as couldn't get through the narrow space. Maybe a one way system should be put into place. People queuing for the toaster and buffet from both sides. Total chaos!
Stayed for one night last weekend whilst attending an event a short walk up the road and would happily recommend it. Having booked one of the cheaper rooms, we were in the new wing (which you don't tend to see on the official site but can be seen in some of the guest photos on here) but the room was perfectly adequate, being clean and sizeable with a HUGE super-kingsize bed, even if the bath itself was a little small. Those who stayed in the older part of the hotel certainly seemed taken with their more traditional rooms. I had a "light bite" in the bar before heading out, a steak & onion sandwich with chips and side salad which was way bigger & better than I expected. So much so, that as I unexpectedly found myself passing again today, I ended up stopping off for more of the same, rather than trying to seek out somewhere else. Breakfast was buffet style cooked English along with some cereals and croissants, although it lacked any fresh fruit that I could spot. The unhealthy option was definitely better than I expected though and the croissants appeared fresh & quite light and not poor pre-packed options. I didn't use the fitness room, but did stick my head in and it seemed perfectly reasonable for anyone desperate enough to exercise whilst staying there. Staff service was excellent throughout and the only minor observation I'd make is not to assume that the bar will necessarily be open to midnight as advised if you're not there some time before that.
Hi we visited this hotel over the weekend (21/7-23/7) we had a premier room with breakfast which we booked through booking.com. The room was a great size 2 chairs a desk a wardrobe with hanging space and shelving a full length mirror on the inside of the door, tea and coffee making facilities good lighting. Bathroom was also a great size and nice and bright with a hairdryer in. My only very small quarms with the room would be the bed was only a double did expect something bigger, only a small mirror in the bedroom on the desk and the curtains let in a lot of light, the room was very warm and as we were on the ground floor we could not sleep with the window open. Bathroom had a few cobwebs. Overall the hotel room and bathroom were great and none of the above would stop me booking again! The breakfast was fantastic very tasty, the staff were great very friendly and arranged a taxi to take us into town on the Friday night (£20) Would recommend this hotel for family's as well and I believe you can also take dogs.
Attend for a family celebration. With the great location and prior knowledge of price per person for sit down 3 course meal with coffee/tea my husband I were disappointed. Portion size was small, the meat and veg were tasteless, literally we could of been eating anything if we had been blindfolded. Never tasted anything so bland. During starter I asked for more bread, lady acknowledged my request....but it never came. The room was laid out nice though.
