We really enjoyed our stay in Alassio at the Grand Hotel Spiaggia. The main things that we liked were its closeness to the beach and restaurants, as well as the very friendly and helpful staff. The one downside was the high cost of sunbeds (€20 per bed per day) on the hotel's part of the beach.

Liked friendly staff, location. Didn't like 30 euro a day to park the car, felt more like a fine ! Roof top pool - noisy - air con extractors. The hotel has great potential, they just don't know how to maximise it - Roof top pool bar - not staffed, Main bar not staffed, have to go to reception to order drinks, great area on the promenade but again no bar or not staffed, just a facility that is woefully under traded as a commercial operation, but then if they can get £150 a week off people for parking why would they bother. Gym equipment not working very well, all needs servicing/oiling won't stay there again.

Lovely night with my elderly mother as everything very accessible. Staff excellent. Lovely restaurant for breakfast and good choice. Roof terrace must be lovely in summer.

We have stayed at this hotel previously and as before they made us very welcome, from the girls on reception, always ready to have a few words, to the members of staff in the restaurant. Our experience is that it is an excellent place for an off season break.

Good hotel close to the beach. The breakfast was very good value; whereas the evening meal was not worth 25 Euros each in comparison to meals out in the town. The room was very clean with good closet space for clothes etc; The hotel staff in general were very good and helpful.

Alassio Hotel Spiaggia

Nice hotel on edge of town (10mins walk from centre) with helpful staff and good facilities. ‘Grand Hotel’ title may be rather overblown but it is a good 3/4 star hotel. Roof terrace is nice but needs sun umbrellas to be practical to use in summer sun and heat.

Warm welcome on arrival, porter took our bags off taxi and desk staff checked us in promptly. Our rooms had side balcony sea views as the hotel sits on the promenade. Good air conditioning and shutters. Room well fitted out. Restaurant on top floor with great views served excellent breakfasts and dinners on the two nights we ate in. Situation of hotel ideal for beach and town shopping and eating . Delightful walks and public transport within easy reach and hotel's outside promenade side seating area added bonus. Would certainly not hesitate to return to the Spiaggia and Alassio.

We spent a very enjoyable couple of days at this hotel, staff very good and helpful, best on reception, although we noticed the waiters in the restaurant were a great help to an elderly couple, going as far as to bring them their food from the buffet. Position of hotel excellent. some road noise but that is to be expected in this sort of location.

Awesome location & Great Staff

Superb location, right on the beach. Just far enough away from the center to not feel so packed with crowds at night, but 5-10 minutes walk to all of the restaurants and the pier. Great great staff. Very professional and helpful. Front desk spoke English well. The bathroom was large and well equipped. A/C worked great. The food was cafeteria level at best. I would suggest eating lunch and dinner out, unless you are on a very tight budget or are feeding kids. The WIFI was virtually un-usable. Even something simple like Wikipedia and email, timed out. I could reach Yahoo news. Not even Google.
