We spent four nights here. The rooms are clean but very tired and need refurbishing. The bathrooms are the real area of need. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast suited more Asian tastes than European but there was always something. The pool area is good for children and rarely busy. Beach towels are available from reception. The road noise is constant but the hotel can't change that!
We got to check in early. I think the staff saw us really tired and sleepy because of our trip before going in their hotel. Staffs were really kind.I love the room we got and we get to enjoy the pool. We had a breakfast buffet. It was all delicious. They also let guest to keep their things with them even if you already checked out. Worth it to stay here. :)
This is not a resort hotel. It is clean enough and in good repair. Arrival drinks consist of a powder mix beverage. There is coffee and tea available. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pool is nice and clean. Location: near the main road and near the beach. Breakfast is very typical (eggs, some sort of cheap meat, bread, etc.) The room is just ok. The mini-fridge is outdated and not working. Bed linens are old and worn. Amenities consist of a few small bars of soap and 2 pouches of shampoo. Room cleaning must be requested and amenities are never replaced. We had to request toilet paper even after the room was cleaned. “Cleaning” involved replacing the bed sheet and towels. You can request beach towels to take to the pool or beach, which was nice. The bathroom does function and there was hot water. Wifi is slow (which is to be expected). The real issue for us was the reservation. We reserved a double bed and were given two twins. My wife and I were very disappointed with the twin beds given that we paid to reserve a double bed. While we were there a gentleman was complaining he reserved a ground floor room and was given a 3rd floor room. There is no elevator. Overall, this hotel is a step above a hostel. If you are on a tight budget you might find this a fair place. Next time we will not stay here.
I dont even know were to start.. Unfriendly staff, ants everywhere in the room, no hot water in the shower, cold buffet breakfast and gym was out of service :( Well, they have nice and big pool and location is good..
The staff at BHR were very friendly and kind. The pool is lovely, too! It’s about a 3-5 minute walk to the beach (no beach chairs though). The rooms desperately need an upgrade. They are very outdated with the decor and furniture. The air conditioner was loud and had some broken settings, and there was what appeared to be water damage on the walls.
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel! Very clean, nice pool, friendly staff and good breakfast.. all this for a great Price. Nice location a short walk to the beach and McDonald’s for the kids. Thanks guys
Aside from the hostile treatment received from their hotel staff, the hotel is gloomy which gives you a very unwelcoming ambience. Room is average which I can say does not give your money's worth. There are better accommodation with much lower price with the kind of room this hotel offers.
This hotel for the price was pretty bad the rooms were old and tired and there was a leak in our bathroom which made it smell of urine. The staff with one exception on the desk were not that friendly and the cleaners they were very noisy going about their jobs and I mean noisy. Breakfast was awful, also cooked too early as the containers did not keep the food warm again not working lucky there were scrambled eggs every day and the toasters were a joke not working missing handles etc. To get your rooms cleaned you had to inform the desk each day. The first room we stayed in had a smell of dirty feet probably the mops need a good scrub guess staff need retraining or too busy fooling around. Would not stay again or recommend this place. Keep in mind there are a lot of oldish hotels in Boracay
The hotel rooms have extreemely slow wifi and it always disconnects making it very hard to enjoy your holiday. In addition to this the tv reception is also very poor. Other than this the hotel rooms are pretty decent.
This is our second stay at Boracay Holiday Resort. Our first stay was 5 years ago. We chose to stay here again, after doing research for other options, because of the hotel’s proximity to the beach, value for money and pool since we have 3 kids with us. I recommend this place for a big group. For this trip, we were with our family, total of 11. We booked 2 suite rooms, 1 got upgraded to an apartment which was great. The pool was enjoyed by all of us. Pros: close to the beach, places to eat, buffet breakfast included, staff were polite and provided overall good service, restaurant was great Cons: the rooms need updating. we were given were quite old rooms. i was told the suite room got cockroach! for the apartment room, they were doing renovation next to our room and was very obtrusive, (good for future guests, not for us). Overall, our family enjoyed the place and served it’s purpose well.
