This is not a Western hotel. Within 2 minutes of checking in I was already looking for other places to stay. Place is completely run down. Safe didn't work, door to the room barely worked, faucet was broke, paint job inside the room was incomplete, the shower didn't have hot water and maintenance was a joke. Location is awful and taxi/trikes wont even go up the hill to the place so you have to walk a very steep incline. Don't be tempted by the price like I was, not worth a cent.
This is a comfortable, clean and well organised hotel in a reasonably quiet part on the island of boracay. A big wow having an infinite pool, where you see the entire view of Boracay itself. The staffs learned to recognise you quickly. They’re courteous and friendly.
We have booked this hotel for Christmas trip but this is a terrible mistake. First of all , no hot water and we have to call them 2-3 times and every time the staff has to ask us to wait for 5 min for the hot water to come. Another problem is that everything inside the room looks ages . I want to our stuff in the safe box but even the safe box is broken .... basically nothing is functional in the room..... the breakfast is no taste ! only positive thing is that the view is quite good from the room.
This is one of the best accomodation you can get in Boracay. Though it is a bit far from Boracay beach itself but they do provide private transportation that will bring you to the center. Worth a stay and you can capture the entire view of the boracay stretch from the hotel facing the poolside. Though the building needs to be refurbish as it is getting old already. But if you are after an amazing view then stay here. Beds are comfortable and rooms are reasonably clean with your own private minipool. Toilets and bathroom are very spacious. Foods are really good. Service was not to bad at all.
After having stayed in meagre accommodation for 10 days in boracay, we decided to upgrade for a week. We searched the various sites and settled for this one. Price was quite reasonable and the hotel looked great in the pictures. Oh how we wish we hadn't bothered. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and up a steep hill. The hotel description said it was located in Station 1,which was another reason we selected it. Station 1 of where? Timbuktu? There is no courtesy bus into the town, the hotel worker just goes and flags a motorbike taxi or blags a lift from a passing courtesy bus from another hotel. This bus service was only every 2 hours and the last return bus was at 10pm.The buffet breakfast isn't of a great standard and the hotel looks very tired although there was major building works going on. The pool was quite nice, but every afternoon there seems to be a 'members of the public welcome' policy. Lots of locals visited, were very noisy, played loud music and stayed until well after dark. The only pluses to this stay was the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the room, mainly due to the fact that the air conditioning worked, which we were grateful for after the first hotel. My advice.... pay the extra and stay in the town
I booked this hotel in a flash sale for Php2000 plus admins fees which totalled around Php7300 for 3 nights. It's a superb deal! Things to know: -not beach front -uphill road going to hotel and you have to walk by foot..quite tiring -hilltop view of the island -free decent breakfast -no elevators, just stairs -big outdoor pool -free scheduled tricycle shuttle -far from restaurants -some side of the building still under construction. -provides welcome drinks -provide bottled water only on the first day - daily housekeeping when requested -friendly and attentive staff It is quite far from station beaches but very close to Pukka Beach which is the best beach to snorkle. You can actually see fishes compared the other station beaches. From the hotel to the station beaches will cost P150 (private ride) per way but if you wanna save, you only pay P10-20 riding with others. Don't worry...the tricycle only had one route so you can't get lost. If you want a peaceful stay, this is a good place. I just didnt like the uphill walk but apart from that, the rest are acceptable. Hope this helps!
We arrived the hotel november 15th and were supposed to be staying there for one week. Judging from the pictures we saw online we were looking forwards living at this nice hotel. First of all- it's far far away from everything, there's not even a shop in walking distance. They have scheduled shufflebus to and from D'mall, and will not help you get to the beach/ shoppingmall when it's not at these times, even thought we asked for it right after arrival. Our second night the bus was full, so we had to wait 2 more hours in the evening with our tired 7months old baby. The driver would not come and pick us up again, and while discussing with him outside the bus both him and my boyfriend got irritated and when the busdriver told us to book a tricycle instead my boyfriend in the heat of the moment told him to get lost (we do not consider it safe riding tricycle with our baby) the busdriver responded with a loud and clear unfriendly response and drove off. (Btw I hope all of the people sitting in the bus who saw and heard the whole situation have a clear concious leaving a family with a toddler waiting 2 more hrs at nighttime.) My boyfriend later apologized, but the driver obviously did not accept. We had to move from the first room we had, because there were tiny ants all over, even in the bed we had to spend one night in. After discussing with the staff- they actually tried to blame us for leaving food out so that the ants came in, we got to move. None of the two rooms were properly cleaned. The refrideratior contained a bottle of water that was opened and half full. (We payed for that) The bathroom stanked of old urin. We were given a "clean" sheet for our baby with blood stains on it!! The towel was dirty, and the pool at the balcony was disgusting. The whole hotel is rusty and damaged by damp. And please notice that there is no elevators, you have to use the stairs. The breakfast was terrible, ants was also crawling here, over the bread etc. We came to eat the second and last morning, and they were playing music so loud that we almost had to shout at each other in order to communicate. We contacted our travel agency and they helped us get a new hotel after 2 days. That was the best day we had at Grand Vista Resort! Our travel agency contacted grand vista and told them this was unacceptable. So the last day they were very friendly, offering an upgrade and helped us with transportation to the other hotel. Some of the staff were very friendly, especially one man helping us alot carrying luggage etc, we unfortanetly didn't catch his name. That was the only positive experience. Conclusion- do NOT stay at this hotel! I would not recommend it to anyone.
This hotel is a fair way off the beach (15 minute shuttle ride) although the hotel does offer a free shuttle whilst we were there it ran between 9am and 10pm from the hotel and 915 and 1015 from dmall. The hotel looks a little tired and they were doing some restoration work whilst we were there but our rooms were clean and comfortable with amazing views. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating would stay again
the view was fantastic! shuttle bus was provided hourly to the Mall. hey! the staffs are so friendly and helpful! very helpful! but then, there were lack of varieties for breakfast (didn't even have the chili sauce and white pepper). in addition, it was far from town, airport and other interesting places. the pool was dirty. there is no elevator and the fridge was smelly.
We took the honeymoon suite..room design was average..had a private pool which was sufficient. Housekeeping was horrible, not refurnishing our 2 mineral water bottles per/day quota. A bit late to clean the room too. The breakfast buffet was below average, late in topping up. Hourly shuttle to D'Mall was pleasant and timely too. Main swimming pool was a bit dirty and not cleaned often. Had a great view from the swimming pool facing Front Beach/White Beach. Wifi to the rooms was below average, slow too. At night it will be full since everyone will be hogging the wifi.
