Warning: Google Maps has a HARD time here & sent me everywhere except the hotel. Place is in a perfect location (near lagoon/beach & groceries etc), cool jungle setup, clean, powerful AC/fan. If you can, get a ground-level room because it's all stairs. Kitchen was nice tho I couldn't figure out the electric stove, but they have gas as well so no worries. WEAR BUG SPRAY on your lower legs. You won't see the mosquitoes/sand flies but they WILL get you. Luckily they don't need the strong spray (I used citronella oil).

Had a lovely comfortable stay at Magnums on our way to Cairns. The cabin was cosy, clean and very comfortable. Had a really restful night's sleep in the very comfy bed. Reception staff were lovely and a big shout-out to Nicole. I had injured my foot and was struggling to walk. She accompanied me to and helped me get to my cabin. Thank you for your care and kindness Nicole. Made a huge difference. Loved staying here and definitely on the radar to stay for future trips.

I’ve liked the green area and lots of trees all around the property and everything is close like Coles or any café. Only cons: the room was a tiny bed with no space at all. And I slept with my head next to the fridge: AWFUL!

Great value tropical oasis in the middle of Airlie

Practical room with basic amenities, perfect for solo or travelling friends. Setting of the hostel is unique and a great experience. Everything clean. Reception staff very helpful and they had the cheapest day trip to Hamilton of all the travel agents and hostels.

This property is attached to a bar/casino with a “cabaret”. It is loud. The pictures are very different than reality. The bathroom was rusty with dirt/mold on window sills and on edges. The staff were very nice though

Great except the bathroom.

Fantastic location in the heart of town. Close to a Woolworths and lots of shops and restaurants. Rainforest style pathways which are beautiful to walk through. We stayed in a queen bed cabin. It’s fine all except for the bathroom. Not having proper doors means you hear everything when people use the toilet. The shower kept running out of hot water and the spray is too hard (to the point where it hurts), needs a new shower head. Just a shower curtain meant the water sprays out everywhere and does not drain well. I know this place is on the cheaper end of accommodation so we can live with these things but it seems like it could be a fairly easy fix, at least the doors. It also should have better ventilation in there, there’s mould on the ceiling.
