For Expedia people, the property has been renovated but Expedia won't let them update their pictures. The room was well appointed and the bed was heavenly. It's a very easy walk to the lighthouse and there are places to eat, as well as the hotel's restaurant (and they will also deliver to your room if you like!). It exceeded my expectations.

Sunnymead Hotel

Lovely hotel with clean and spacious rooms and a comfortable bed. Clean throughout Unfortunately description of front desk being open all day was inaccurate and the hotel cancelled our booking even though we arrived at 6.30 We were sent an email so we’re aware and rebooked to include a breakfast. We sent a message but didn’t get a reply so we were quite stressed. We called the emergency number at luckily the staff had left a key under the doormat. The breakfast turned out to be a small loaf and bottle of orange juice not worth the £20 paid.

Loved the outdoor pool and that’s about it! Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t check in because our room wasn’t ready. It was past check in time and the receptionist told us we asked for a late check in at 5pm. She was rude, unapologetic and couldn’t provide any proof despite me showing her a message requesting early check in if possible. To top it off, after entering our room, we found beard hairs on the bed. Luckily we were moved into another room. A candle or diffuser would be a good addition perhaps. The rooms have a motel like smell.

Hidden Paradise

We had only booked a one-night stay to do the Great Ocean Road, all through our evening we were musing that we wished we had been able to spend more time in Aireys Inlet just to be able to enjoy the hotel. When the room was first booked, we assumed that it would be nothing more than a clean room and bathroom to rest and reset on the road - we arrived to what looked like a stunning spa resort! The lady we spoke to at check-in was lovely and warm, was happy to give us plenty of information about the area and then handed us our key for the room. As soon as we opened the door to the room, our jaws hit the floor and we almost thought we had to go back to the reception because we'd accidentally been given someone else's suite. Nope, it was ours! The rooms were bright and warm, wonderful decor, a bed so comfy we were almost late for check-out. There was a wonderful cocktail kit (complete with spirit, garnish, syrups, juice, etc) the room also came with a Manhattan shaker, coup glasses and tradition hawthorn strainer, bar spoon and jigger, there was a kettle, toaster, and coffee pod machine. The bathroom had a WONDERFUL waterfall shower with beautiful tiling and basin sink. We were almost sad to be going to dinner with friends away from the premises as everything was so lovely! Thank you again to the wonderful staff who took care of us, we had such an amazing stay! If you find yourself in Aireys Inlet - be good to yourself and check into Sunnymead Hotel!

Charming & Vibrant stay

A delightful stay at a charming and vibrant hotel. The team were super friendly and easy going. We were offered a dinner promotion on arrival for the onsite hotel. We are very glad we took up the offer and made the booking. The food outstanding. All the little details were thought of inside the room. Huge fan of the all the sustainable touches. Overall it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. We look forward to returning soon to continue to explore the Great Ocean Road region.

Clean and chic

We decided on an overnight escape down the beach, last minute. The hotel was lovely even providing a yoga mat to use for a great start to the day. Although the weather wasn't suitable for swimming, the pool and spa look great!
