The entire staff and the gentleman who received us at the reception desk was a perfect gentleman and made us feel at home. The stay was excellent and the restaurant staff was the best in Scilly.
This hotel has a perfect location if you are interested in seeing the valley of the temples. The views of the temples from the hotel are the hotel's strength. The are gorgeous! The pool and the restaurants are wonderful and it is definitely a luxury hotel. The rooms are confortable and the hotel has it's nice details. Beautiful property with beautiful views but perhaps a little overpriced.
The memories of Villa Athena can only be very longlasting - no better location is posible for a visit to Agrigento`s Valley of the Temples. The view from their aptly named "Terrace of the Gods", whether it is during breakfast, afternoon or dinner, is the essence of the dream that brings you here in the first place.... And they even have their own private entrance to the temple complex! The welcome, the attentiveness and the willful cooperation of all their staff, without exception, is truly noteworthy - with that special touch one expects from a 5 star hotel. Only one important point was a true letdown: the room. We reserved a Suite. Based on the photos at the website, we expected a large, well decorated and comfortable room, with a super view of the temples. The view of the temples we did get. The room itself, however, was small and a far cry from the room pictures published at the website. Bad luck in room appointment? Don`t know... But it seems that such a letdown can indeed happen. It happened with a Suite - what about the other room categories... who knows!
