It was a nice place, clean and the food was good. The people at the reception were very helpful and friendly. There's also a pool but we didn't use it.The price was good and the car parking easy. The location was good and we could easy reach every place we wanted to go.
The hotel is old and neglected. The shower hardly works. The tv doesn't work. Very basic., more like a bad hostel then a hotel. The food was very average. I would not stay there again. The location is also far from everything.
I visited this hotel as part of an academic trip to see the ruins at Agrigento. It is located very near the archaeological site and was very convenient from this perspective. The hotel itself is aesthetically very pleasing within unusual architecture and large cactuses all around it giving it an exotic air. Bedrooms were clean and pleasant as was my balcony. The bathroom was spotless and well-appointed (I approve very much of the eco friendly toilet paper, although some others in my group were a little perturbed!) There is a pool, although it was not yet open as we went out of season and a nice, spacious bar area with a very friendly and entertaining bar man who looked after us well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Agrigento.
The rooms were good and spacious and bathroom was great . However our balconies were very small and had bad views. Also we had to go outside or in the lobby for wifi as we could not get wifi from our room. Food was alright . Breakfast cereal and croissant and a few extra things. Has a coffee machine . Also I recommend to invest in a toaster machine as the toast in packets were horrible. TVs were in Italian and we couldn't do anything to change into English . Very nice staff . Overall 3*
Staying at the Hotel Akrabello was a joy! From that location one can travel around Sicily. The hotel was beautifully clean, the pool very well maintained. Showers and swimming caps provided. Keep fit classes in the pool were hilarious as run by a real character!! Our room was really comfortable but internet poor in room, but excellent at reception. Staff were not only very helpful but also friendly. I thoroughly recommend this hotel as it is so reasonably priced for Sicily. Breakfast is an excellent eat as much as you like buffet.
Pretty basic place out of Agrigento. Convenient access to the temple valley and free car park. Breakfast was not great either. This is also a swimming pool but didn't really want to stay in the hotel for the day.
We found the Hotel very good to stay in. We stayed for four nights.Food was great. Very quiet and so relaxing by the pool. Wifi was available in the reception area and in our rooms. When we arrived from our excursions we always found our rooms tidy and clean. Staff were always there to help and we communicated well with them. I recommend this Hotel if you are travelling to beautiful Agrigento. Mhgalea
At this hotel I suffered a severe respiratory allergic reaction to what can be described as an environment full of mould spores. Yes you wrere able to smell it. I had an extremely severe allergic reaction which has NEVER happened to me before. The staff at the hotel could see what had happened and were sympathetic BUT they made no attempt at service recovery. We had booked for three nights and the only place I was able to stay whilst in the hotel was in our room with the windows wide open. I could not even sit in the breakfast room without having trouble breathing. We were not able to stay the three nights we had paid for because of the health risks and we had to move to another hotel BUT they would not even consider giving us a refund or even a part refund. Just to put things in perspective, I am a medical researcher working in the medical faculty in a major university in Australia, so I am quite qualified to make these health risk comments This hotel is definitely not from an international perspective a 3 star hotel, it is way below 3 stars..........This classification system seems to be somewhat manipulatable and poorly applied in Italy. Also the hotel needs a complete and thorough clean to improve the air quality of its environment. DEFINITELY do NOT stay there if you suffer from asthma or allergies.
My wife & I stayed in this hotel as part of a package offered by "Cap O Soleil". (I won't bother travelling with that company in the future). The Akrabello, is listed as 3 star, but in fact it is a very basic, 2 star. 7 km from down town, in an industrial area. Nearest restaurant is Chinese ! WOOPEE ! One window had no glass. We insisted a change to another (equally basic) room. At least it had glass in both windows. The *view* by the way, was a brick wall about 3 metres away. From where I sit in the pool area, as I write, I can see 25 rooms with a balcony. This is OFF season, there are very few customers, yet we have a room with no balcony. There was no minibar in our room. We had to beg for one, explaining we were carrying picnic food for the next day's lunch. Begrudgingly we were given one. The receptionists speak neither French or English, which makes communication difficult. Free WIFI is available in the reception area, in the bar and the pool area. Strangely enough, WIFI is not available in the rooms. The pool looked clean, however the surrounding area was dirty with scraps of paper, cigarette butts & food scraps. Worse, the outside shower area near the pool, was covered in an unpleasant looking green slime on the floor & part way up the wall. I would not dare walk there with bare feet. There was also a large dog turd in this shower area. None of which was not cleaned up during our two day stay. As with other hotels during this trip, we had only an approximate address for this hotel on the "Cap O Soleil" voucher. For those travelling from Agrigento, when you are in Villagio Mose, turn left at the huge eucalyptus tree. It is the hotel with the large "HOTEL" sign. However, if you have a choice, find somewhere closer to Agrigento.
