Good business hotel that makes you feel that you are not even in Addis. Good restaurants, great pool area and a really loud and lively outside bar at the back of the hotel. If you have a view of the pool, you won’t be able to sleep until the music in the bar stops - so you either have to join in or get a room facing the front.
We stayed for 4 days at this hotel. Its really a stunning hotel. I strongly advise any business traveler to choose this hotel! The hotel and its perfectly landscaped gardens make you feel like your in a heavenly garden despite the fact that the hotel is in the center of a very busy and chaotic booming city. The rooms are really nice, neat and the hotel has a really nice pool. The lobby is spacious and has a really nice ambiance truly charming! The hotel is very elegant and rich the rooms the same we really enjoyed it
True Luxury Collection. One of the best hotels you can stay. Classic and superb. Breakfast is amazing and the service in every aspect is just right. All aspects as well as the grounds the upkeep is just right. Great pool.
Addis Ababa is a chaotic city. The center, booming with new construction (largely with Chinese finance), co-exists with old and often dilapidated buildings. The Sheraton is a veritable oasis and it's an ecosystem in itself. If you want to spend your Addis time in luxury, this is the place for it. The hotel is large its grounds on a hill overlooking the city are even larger. The hotel is beautiful and it is very well maintained. Sitting in the lobby bar for an afternoon tea or a drink, or somewhere in the garden, is a lovely experience. My room was equally beautiful and I had an excellent view from the small French balcony down to the city. There is also a very nice pool area, although it was a bit too chilly to swim during my stay (Addis is high up in the East African highlands at an elevation of some 2,350 m or 7,700 ft so it can get pretty cool). The sun was out, though, and it was most pleasant to sit by the pool enjoying a drink. There are ample dining choices on premises, including fine Italian and Indian restaurants. During my trip, however, I didn't eat at the hotel except in the Summerfields, which had a good buffet of Western and Ethiopian food and a nice atmosphere. At the end of each day I found myself gravitating to the outdoors Office Bar, which has excellent local bands most every night. Overall, a most pleasant stay at this beautiful hotel with impeccable service.
I stayed here for 2 weeks on business. The staff are friendly, the restaurants are good, and the rooms are very nice. The pool is relaxing, the gym is adequate, and there is an outdoor restaurant right by the pool.
Spent a few nights here as part of a visit on business. Have stayed at a few sheratons around the world and this one is just as good. There is a good selection of restaurants , including a good Indian and good Italian restaurant. The Indian one is quite expensive to be honest. All in all a good stay
The sheraton Addis is about 30 min by car away from the airport. Arrived at the hotel the bellboy helped me with my luggage. A very nice and large lobby. Staff is everywhere well dressed. I had a standard room with a king size bed which was fantasticly soft. A nice bathroom with a bathtub and a lot of towels. The only thing is: there is no kettle or coffeemaker in the room. Never had that in a hotel in that category. The gym is closed for 3 month and no alternativ available. Breakfast was ok. Looked not really fresh at 930 am anymore. Lunchbuffet fantastic with local specialities. The garden and pool area is really nice and beautiful and clean. The stuff is very friendly everywhere. Absolutley recommedable. Will be back again... Thank you
Myself and friends stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as part of a holiday. It is the best hotel in Addis and hard to fault. You are however paying for a lot of gilt and marble as well as multiple uniformed doormen. This is fine if you are on a business or diplomatic allowance but it makes little sense to pay US$500 per night in a value city like Addis where the next most expensive hotel is less than half the price of the Sheraton. We moved out to a beautiful clean small boutique hotel - Addis Regency - where at US$61 per night we wanted for nothing being treated with personal consideration that I had forgotten existed eg. On day of check out invited to return later for free to to take a shower and freshen up before an evening flight.we were chauffered to.
What a memorable experience in my life. The sheraton is a palace par galore .built by a king for kings.Superb service ..amazing food and a fantastic team of staff.the hotel lobby is a out of this world and reminds one of the titanic. Definetly coming back soon.
The Sheraton in Addis is indeed a luxury hotel. It is comfortable, spacious and the staff are very warm. The Concierge system is a super efficient and the staff very experienced and courteous. It may go without saying that for a luxury hotel, their restaurants will also be expensive, but in this case the cost is very high compared to any other restaurant outside of the hotel. Just note this so you are well prepared. And the minibar- well a bottle of wine will set you back almost $50. It also no gym -which is a pity- but at least there is a jogging trail.
