Kuriftu is the best place to relax and have a good work meeting. Having lots of sitting options with amazing view, a work space with a socket and good internet makes it an ideal environment for work related weekend meetings. On top of this, the customer service is AMAZING!
I used to go to this resort quite often a few years ago, and I have always been impressed with the quality of service they provided. I visited the resort mid-September with my family for a one night trip. We arrived around 1:30 and only one of the room was ready, which I understood because check-in was not until 2pm. We all dropped our bag in one room and headed to the restaurant for lunch. What a chaos that was. The wait staff could not cope with the number of people in the room. I could not blame them, there were so may large parties with a few staff. We waited to receive our menu, another wait for our order, and another to get our drinks, pay our bill. Just so much wait!! We ordered off the menu, which turned out to be a huge mistake because it took forever to get our food. The food tasted average and the chicken nugget we ordered had gasoline taste so we had to return it to the kitchen (which they happily accommodated). Our second room was not ready until 4pm (even though we were asked to leave right at 11 the next morning). I also found a shoe mark on one of the sheets that was on the outdoor bed in the front yard. Housekeeping changed it right away. Overall, I understand some changes are to be expected due the growth of the Kurifu brand. However, it will be advantageous to keep up with the quality of service as well. Each instance they tried to make up to the shortfalls, but it will be nice not to encounter such events in the first place.
. Kauriftu Resort - Ethiopia If you are looking to spend a few days away from the city this is the place to go, the environment is a beautiful combination of nature and culture (you can feel the African vibes), you can choose either the many rooms that are spread around the resort itself or the rooms that ate located along the lake, in both cases you would have a beautiful view, you can enjoy your meals in the restaurant, you can go rafting or go to the cinema and you can also treat yourself with some pampering in the spa. All of this without leaving the resort. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the prices are excellent for the whole trip @kurifturesortspa 🌺🌿 . #LifeOfFatma #Spareviews #luxurylife #life #Spa #Resorts #Dubai #Massage #Blogger #Vlog #SpaVlog #Ethiopia #EthiopiaTourism #Travel #Resorts
This resort also serves as a conferencing facility, and I am writing about it from that perspective. The conference rooms are funky, huge, Ethiopian style spaces that allow for a conducive atmosphere for dialogue. The staff assigned to these rooms are friendly, and helpful. Accommodation rooms are also exceptionally nice, and huge. The buffet food is top notch as far as I am concerned. Delicious. The only downside is that the rooms don't have desk for working professionals, of which there are many, and some electrical fixtures in the room don't work. Overall though, this inconvenience is offset by everything else.,
Kuriftu is a pretty decent resort, fun bars, shops with interesting things, newish buildings and great views and landscaping. They have also just added a waterpark which is pretty decent. It can get busy with day tourists but it’s all relative, I doubt you’d get this experience anywhere else.. certainly not the waterpark. The restaurant was decent with good choice and service while typically slow was better than some. Ethiopia has currently limited options, this is one of the better choices close to Addis and can be a good day out but keep your expectations realistic.
I visited Kuriftu resort 2 years ago with my my mom, brother and my two sisters. I was impressed with their service as well the cleanliness of the resort. Fast forward to Sunday August 4,2019; Me and fifteen family members decided to make a day trip to Kuriftu resort. We arrived at around 1:30 pm. We paid an a fee to enter the resort which covers a buffet lunch and 30 minutes of kayaking. It was extremely busy and the waiters were struggling to cope up with the demand of their customers which is understandable. My disappointment are the way the resort was run that afternoon: 1. Line up behind empty chafing dishes 2. Filthy and unsanitary washrooms 3. Light fixture with spiderweb and dirt I couldn't comprehend how an excellent resort changes for the worst in just two years. If the owners are reading this review, I would strongly advise them to go back to their drawing board and look what was working for them in the past. Good luck. F.T. L.
Another case where TripAdvisor urgently needs to consider the introduction of a 'Good' ranking as the difference between average and very good is simply too wide to do real justice in a review. The level of staff attention was impressive while at the resort, the concept of the accommodation well thought through and when the new water park is complete, this will make a good getaway from the hustle and bustle of Addis. At that stage can the owners then also turn their attention back to the existing resort to refurbish and upgrade and bring a new shine to the Kuriftu Resort as competition in the area is not standing still. The high number of visitors who come for the day certainly add to the volumes going up and 'Residents Only' signs would no doubt help to keep the numbers of curious onlookers down who pass by one's front porch. The food, from breakfast to supper, is largely traditional ethnic Ethiopian food, well presented and tasty though a continental dish like pasta is normally available. The Spa is located some distance from the accommodation units where I stayed, as are the swimming pool, sauna and steam bath and bookings for the Spa are a must to get a time slot. A circus tent is used for performances three times a week, no doubt another reason for locals to flock to the resort. In regard of furnishings of my room, I'd add a working desk and chair and replace the low bench in front of the bed with proper arms chairs and a coffee table. A stand up lamp next to such an arrangement would improve lighting when one wants to sit inside, have some coffee and read if the outside temperatures are not too friendly and it is too cool to use the lounger on the terrace. This would greatly add to the comfort in the rooms and make them much more 'complete' and after all, the space is there to accomplish that. The absence of a safe in my room had me lock valuables in my suitcase and thankfully I had brought some hangers with my jacket and shirts as, apart from two for the robes, there were none available. Internet and phone signals were a bit patchy while there as is often the case in Ethiopia I understand. Thumbs up for the staff's readiness to help even though some clearly struggled a bit with understanding and speaking English but sought assistance from their colleagues with better language skills.
We booked at Kuriftu resort for five nights but cut our visit after one night. The service is horrible. The attendants (about 6) were so busy with close to two hundred ‘day visitors’. We had to also line up for about half an hour for the kayak ride. The constant flow of ‘day visitors’ roaming around the guest rooms was so disturbing. We couldn’t use the wood fireplace in our suite room even if the night was so cold and the room wasn’t sealed well. We asked at least for an electric space heater but they couldn’t provide us one. The Kuriftu I know years back was top of the line. It is so sad to see it tanking with its focus on mass market. Avoid Kuriftu if you are looking for a restful time with decent service.
Kuriftu Resort was amazing. We visited end June and the level of service we received was amazing. They went out of their way to find us the "perfect room" we truly enjoyed ourselves. The spa was great, a bit noisy and difficult to relax but good Breakfast very limited not a lot of options Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean Overall worth a visit, lovely place with great attentive staff.
This place is amazing. Everything you need and more. you will certainly not be disappointed. Not going to gush on about the place as you need to experience it first hand. My option would be the old side as you are closer to the spa which is also a must when you visit.
