Accra City Hotel really tikked all the boxes for a good hotel for me, I really didn't regret the decision to stay there. The location is very good, at an upmarket part of Accra and a bisniess district. I was having business at the Movenpick and I was amazed at the convenience and proximity. I walked six minutes to and fro. The hotel is clean, with open spaces at the reception areas. The ambience is trully warm and settling. The facilities are good. I would now and again have a cup of cappucino and or coconut cocktails at the bar downstairs. The bar has marvellous relaxing spaces and comfortable couches. We actually watched the final match of the FiFA World Cup from there. They have big tv screens. The room itself has a comfortable bed, two regular pillow cases and two bigger ones. It is sufficiently spacious and the lighting is good with a master switch next to the bed. I liked the modern shower and its cleanliness. The complimentary mini bar is a nice touch that reminds you that business can achieve a lot with a little bit of a human touch. Cleanliness is big at Accra City. I enjoyed the fitness Centre every morning. It is well equipped with modern machines - cardio and weights. Well stocked with water and towels. Service was good. They washed my shirt and ironed it and still didn't expect to be paid! There were two things that I did not like and I urge them to correct these: I arrived at the airport on SAA at around 11pm. Despite various promises that had been made to me in writing that I will be collected from the airport, there was nobody to fetch me from the airport. I found myself travelling with a taximan in the middle of the night and without the comfort and convenience of being specifically collected by your hotel. On arriving at the hotel, to their credit, they took the bill such that there was never any financial exchange between me and my taxi driver. But a promise had been broken and despite my insistance that they should give me a plausible explanaination for this omission, none was forthcoming. The second issue was the room phone, a gadget that looks like a cellphone that they promise the guest will call anywhere for free. That thing is restricted to only a handful of countries in the world and it's of no value for most guests who come from the rest of the world. Talk of an over promise and under delivery! They need to fix that. Otherwise they are good people, willing and able to serve. They are even ISO certified and it shows. Next time I am in Accra I will stay at this hotel unless I am in the mood and the right budget for a serious upgrade to the nearby Movenpick.

The hotel is a former Novotel Hotel. It’s a pleasant hotel but going under renovation and lots of upgrading needs to take place such walls, furniture, gym facilities etc. What makes the hotel pleasant is the friendly service and GREAT FOOD!!

Accra City Hotel isn't a glitzy hotel, but it is convenient, comfortable, and has everything you need for a business trip. The staff are pleasant and accommodating, and the food in the restaurant was surprisingly good. The breakfast buffet had many, many options! The rooms appear to have been recently refurbished, but the layout is a bit disorienting (with the toilet in a separate room). The swimming pool was not available when I was there (it was being renovated), but it is a small pool and the pool hours are very limited for a business traveler. The hotel offers convenient shuttle service to and from the airport.

Accra City Hotel is welcoming. I enjoyed my 3-night stay here. Food was good with a wide variety at breakfast. I was engaged away most of the day, so didn't get to eat lunch or dinner. There's a complimentary minibar restocked every morning, unless you fail to consume them. WiFi was superb. We even got 'handy,' a complimentary phone for making calls, both local and international without charges. The staff was very friendly and excited thorough professionalism.

good rates, good food, close to airport. was selected at last minute but no regrets. got a good deal on room rate. very convenient spa. helpful staff. clean rooms. huge outside balcony restaurant with wide selection of foods and wine

Centrally located hotel you do encounter a lot of traffic if headed outside Accra City. Rooms are small good to be staying alone. Restaurant offers a good food spread. Buffet has a good variety of local and continental food. Currently the hotel is being renovated.

Our stay here was on the whole very pleasant, with the room was well presented and clean. The bar is an acquired taste in the evening, often hosting live music can be a bit much if you just want a quiet drink. The worst part of this hotel is the WiFi, which barely works anywhere other than the lobby. On my first visit here the WiFi was open and I was told that the poor performance would be fixed when they got an upgrade. By the time I came back for a second visit the WiFi required a code, which filled me with hope. Sadly though I was still unable to consistently use the WiFi in my room. Breakfast is good with a wide selection of good food, with freshly cooked eggs a nice touch. I’d stay again, but hope they get their internet sorted soon!

The Accra City Hotel is a great place to stay. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s lovely. Recently renovated rooms and super friendly staff - from the security staff to the front desk. And the food in the restaurant is so so good.

I had stayed at the Accra City Hotel in 2017 and decided to visit again. There are improvements in progress with the pool, outside area so one needs to be patient while the work in completed. This did not hinder my stay at all. Mary in front reception is an asset to the establishment. She really understand customer service and is always so friendly and welcoming. Robert too was good. Overall another comfortable stay. Room was perfect and the food and service in the restaurant amazing as always. Will be back......

I like this Hotel very much. It’s an old Hotel but for Ghana or Africa just a place to be and stay. Rooms are basic, Food fantastic, Free Minibar, and much more. Hotel is now under upgrade (renovation) of Swimming Pool, Elevators.
