General level of cleansing and presentation of the room was poor with in particular the shower room with mildew on the tiles, hair in the shower basin and the hot water was Luke warm at best at all times of the day. There was marks on the sheets and the room had a smell of damp which is a character of some African rooms but still not acceptable. Check in staff are friendly and helpful as were the staff during what was a very nice breakfast buffet. The free internet which came with the room was very slow and frequently dropped connection. The area behind the pool is currently being knocked down so a lot of noise and smells,.. looking forward to seeing what the improvements are,. Hopefully it includes the pool which was filthy dirty, mildew and dirt growing on the pool edge and most of the tiles on the bottom of the pool are missing along with many from the pool side as well ,. a health and safety issue.
I arrived with my cellphone damaged from my trip. Isaac, guest relations got quotes for repairs and when they were too costly, found a cheaper phone and uploaded what was needed while I continued to work in my hotel room. His service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble!! I haven't experience such 5 star service in any hotel before...Thank you Isaac
The service is great in this hotel. The staff are very nice, efficient and friendly. The breakfast is excellent. Some of the rooms are a little tired and needs some attention. But one things that needs the most attention is the wifi connection, it is hit and miss in your room, it either works or it doesn't and that changes by the minute, so it is rather frustrating. The pool area needs some attention as well. But everything else makes up for these especially the staff and the service. The phone in your room is truly free for calls to the UK, hard o believe but it is true.
I was visiting Accra on business for a few days and was very pleasantly surprised with the Accra city hotel. Its a very good businessman hotel with very friendly and helpful staff , decent rooms and very good dining room. Very good buffet breakfast! The bar is large and pleasant but while sitting there with a colleague one afternoon a rather irate man came rushing up and told us to stop laughing. He said he was trying to interview people and couldn't hear the applicants because we were laughing loudly! As both my colleague and myself were originally from Glasgow I am sure you can imagine our reaction. I want to make it clear that this was NOT a member of staff. I found the hotel drivers very helpful and useful particularly one called Daniel who drove us about every day at a very reasonable price. Hotels in Accra are ridiculously expensive but all in all it was an excellent hotel and I would definitely stay again.
Good hotel ideally located for getting around Accra Rooms are fine although maybe a wee bit dated. Restaurant was above average for this type of hotel. Nice pool and external seating area. Lounge bar is a good place to meet for informal meetings. Friday night in the lounge is a must - learn to dance Ghana style - FAB
The staff here are really lovely. Restaurant staff, front desk, room attendants. Food is nice. Wide range at breakfast and the dinner buffet is both reasonably priced and varied. The pool was being renovated and apparently closed while I was there but I saw people swimming. The plug sockets in the room needed some attention because the chargers needed wiggling about to work, and the Wi-fi dropped from time to time. Tried to change some money, Sterling to Cides, on my first night but apparently the hotel didn’t have any money!
Lovely place as it too big as other hotels and very well located downtown . Best ratio for quality price location . And traffic jam in accra can be very looooooong . Service is also very good as the employees have been working for many years and love their job . Isaac Is one of them 21 years . Strongly recommended
I went to this hotel because I had conferences in the movenpick hotel. The hotel was very well located for my needs. They offer a free shuttle from the airport. The rooms are ok, but nothing special. The pool is very small. They are currently in constructions near the pool area, so it is not very appealing. The breakfast is great!!! Big offer and good quality. Small gym but enough for few people. I had issues with the free phone in the room, it never worked. The service is very nice, kind and attentive.
This is a standard business hotel. It all worked well. Clean but a bit worn. Buffet food was good. Staff were very pleasant. I would definitely stay again... free cell phone a great benefit. Nice pool area.
The hotel is a mid-size business hotel in the heart of Accra, with easy walking access to popular downtown destinations. A shuttle bus was available for other destinations. Support staff and management were helpful and accommodating. Some of the best I have experienced. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The room was well appointed. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and secure. I stayed for one week while on a business trip to Accra.
