After reading so many positive reviews about this place, Me and my hubby decided to make it our summer holiday / anniversary celebrations. When we got to Abu Dhabi air port, be warned, they do not speak English, just guess and walk towards where they're pointing towards. Never take airport taxis, they quoted us £80 - £100. The locals taxis are cheaper. When we got to the hotel, the doorman was far too busy to notice us, he didn't bother opening the door. For a 5 star hotel, that should of been the norm. Anyway when we checked it, we were welcomed in a very friendly manner. We were given a refreshing drinks and a much needed cold towel. We were then told to wait till our room was ready. In the end, we waited for about an hour, but we knew the room wouldn't be available as we got there very early in the morning. We were finally taken to our room. That's where the hotel needs to improve. We were not shown anything in our room and it would of been nice if the butler spent a few mins explaining things to us, for an example, there's no smoking in the balcony. We could of done with a little tour of the hotel too which we never got. We booked half board and I'm glad we did because it was impossible to stomach 3 meals in that weather. The food was lovely. They had everything available. We had breakfast and dinner, again they had different themes every night which made a difference. Desserts were to die for. Customer service was faultless, Sudip. B in particular was very attentive during our breaki and dinner. Weldone and keep up the good work. Thilak.P went above and beyond to replace my missing face towels, thank you. Customer service around the pool area could improve though, they could come around to clean the table which was always full of empty water bottles and a full ash tray. Pool area and the beach were my 2 fav places, stunning views by day and night. There are plenty of choice when it comes to bars. Manhattan lounge in particular, was very relaxing. They do offers before dinner which was great. We had to change our room during our start due to a very inconsiderate guest next door. Again, the staff at St Regis were very attentive and kind, they moved everything for us whilst we were busy by the pool. That was handled very smoothly. We did appreciate the live music by the slightly stuck up pianist, who played beautiful songs. Over all, I will visit St Regis again however, they still need to make improvements hence why I haven't scored them excellent. Thank you St Regis.
Had difficulty booking online for two family rooms at the promotional rate mentioned on the website. So I booked two rooms using the corporate rate of our company. on check-in I was informed that the corporate rate I had per room was for a single occupancy and that the double room was more expensive. at the next check-in counter I could hear another guest complaining about something similar. then I was informed that breakfast was included, to get a call one hour later informing me that the higher rate I had to pay did not include breakfast. so why do they over promise and under deliver
We stayed in Room 622. A beautiful, full sea facing room with a huge bed and massive bathroom. Unfortunately checking-in was less impressive. When we booked by phone (we live in Dubai) we were expressly told to check in "at the residence", so we had to ask various staff on driving up where that was, and where did we check in? None of the staff seemed to have a clue, or tried to direct us to where we eventually checked in. Eventually we did check in at the main hotel - quite abrupt staff member who couldn't find our booking for quite some time. There was no attempt to ask us if we wanted to be escorted to our room. We ordered a room service meal on check-in. Very slow for a very uncomplicated meal - over 1/2 an hour. The butler service didn't seem to work - every enquiry we made was "I'll have to get back to you when I have contacted the department concerned" - I thought the butler service was supposed to be a "one stop window" - it certainly is in say Oberoi hotels. Later requested a few Earl Grey tea bags and a small jug of cold milk. Both arrived after a long delay with a bill of nearly equivalent $20, which was just daylight robbery. I didn't pay, and it was later explained away as "an unfortunate error" by the staff! In the morning, found the coffee dispenser was jammed with an old capsule which someone had put in the wrong way, but obviously whoever cleans the room on guest turn around hadn't checked and cleaned it. All little things, but one expects more from the St.Regis name and brand. Many of the staff seemed woefully under-trained for a 5* hotel. Disappointing.
We stayed here just for one night in June 2017. It was during Ramadan so there was no alcohol served during daylight and the beach-side bar/restaurant 'Turquoise' was closed but otherwise it was the same experience as any other time of the year, you could still have soft drinks at poolside. The hotel is amazing - a fantastic location with sea right out the horizon (unusual for hotels in this region) and sunset on the beautiful long beach. There are plenty of pools to choose from (including a really nice kids pool). The rooms are very nice - amazing bathrooms and they have everything you'd need to spend a week or more. The restaurants are great - we ate in Sontaya which is a Thai themed restaurant and it was delicious. The bars are very nice too - Turquoise on the beach is amazing when its open (closed during our visit but we've been there before) and the bar down the corridor from the lobby is quiet but perfect - great service and real luxury feel. Nothing is cheap in this hotel but it has everything you want. There are also a few restaurants and cafes and bars across from the main entrance which are nice - I would recommend 'Caramel' for classy evening drinks. I would place this hotel second only to the Emirates Palace Hotel and that is high praise. The service in this hotel set it apart from some others - you always feel like they are aware of your needs and they are cheerful and helpful all the time without being intrusive. I'll be back.
I have been in St. Regis several times. I consider it one of the best for service and quality. This time it was No Comment. Starting from the beginning we had to call so many time for a reservation. They could not get our last name or phone number right! At the end I started to think to be on Candid Camera. I arrived to the point to call while driving to the hotel, to hear that we had no booking and it was all full. (It was my daughter's birthday and she specifically requested this hotel. I even cancelled my business trip to make her happy). My worries became a nightmare. 5, 6, 7 calls and nobody could sort things out. Telling me they would call me back but they never did. Each call an average of 7 minutes waiting. In the meantime we reached the hotel. Iftar dinner not available. Only availability dinner at 9 pm. We walked around and entered in the restaurant at 8.55. Sit at the table 8.58. The waiter told us that if we would not wait 9pm ... (2minutes) they would charge the Iftar rate. I could not believe it. So we had to wait they gave us the permission to stand up from the table at 09:06 PM. I still was only interested to get my evening a happy one, but the food was really average. We have been to St. Regis Abu Dhabi city. Nothing comparable. Meat was hard and stuffy. Bread hard. Pizza small and probably frozen. I ended up eating melon ... which I normally do not eat if not organic. That was not, I am sure. Drinks not included in the buffet. Not even water. We were charged 12 Euro extras for two bottles of water.
We had an amazing stay in this hotel. The beach, the rooms, kids club, swimming pools were great. The breakfast and dinner in Olea resturant were delicious with very good service Check in and out were easy and fast. Definitely we will be back.
Make no mistake, this is a great hotel. Our room was beautiful, the beach stunning and the free half board dinner and breakfast of a good standard. However the service didn't meet the standards I expect of St Regis on a number of fronts e.g. at the beach we often put out our own towels and staff refused to replenish water and didn't provide an ice bucket. All other five star hotels I've stayed at in Abu Dhabi do this without question. Secondly, breakfast and dinner in the buffet restaurant was a bit of a scrum. I suspect this was down to the hotel offering free half board during shoulder season. Thirdly, at breakfast it felt like ordering fresh eggs was not something they encouraged. To their credit eggs benedict made on request was great, but there was no menu provided on tables which made me feel cheeky asking for it, and that's not how one should feel at a St Regis! However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and particularly enjoyed cocktails at the Manhattan Lounge. Despite the service shortcomings, we really enjoyed our stay and thought it was excellent value for money given the complimentary half board. I was also very impressed by our butler who quickly arranged a change of room when I explained that next door there was a baby that wouldn't stop crying. Finally, we found the aircon noisy in both rooms but got used to it. But if you find noisy aircon impossible to live with, suggest you pick another hotel.
What a pleasant stay at the St. Regis on Saadiyat Island. The hotel is luxurious, stylish with a twist of Arabic modern. It is hard to find a better location to relax and unwind. The staff is extremely helpful and the food to die for. The rooms are beautiful and very elegant. I won't hesitate to come back. Don't think twice and treat yourself
We have just returned home after being spoilt at the St Regis Saadiyat Island. If you are contemplating which property to stay at - I would suggest to stay at this hotel. From the moment you check in, to the service by the pool area (compliments to Suresh who works by the pool area), the butler service in the room etc etc - everything is impeccable. My family and I absolute love this place. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are magnificent and the view from (premier ocean suite) was stunning. Despite the small niggle we faced with maintenance work on our floor - the hotel were very accomodating and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you St Regis for a lovely relaxing break and we look forward to staying here again .
We really enjoyed our family stay in St Regis. This is truly 5 star resort, we visited many in UAE including Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Al Qasr or Emirates Palace, so we can compare. Long story short. Hotel is nice, feels luxurious, personnel is super friendly. Rooms are spacious with big bathroom. Nice style and equipment. Each room has own butler which is ready to solve enquiries. We would like to thank to our butler - Danica. The bottle of wine as sorry for guests who have been loud next room previous night really surprised us. We had few issues with the room, but all have been solved quickly. Minibar prices have been too high, which is normal in this type of hotels, but little bit non sense. Food: We had a half board, food was amazing, huge variety on breakfast - this was shuffled every second day. Dinners are thematic with a wide choice and friendly staff, cakes are brilliant and the guy working around them was really nice. Pool: We enjoyed the pools and how they are done, you are not having troubles to find some quiet place. Water was refreshing. Personnel working around pools and beach are really helpful and friendly, assisting with towels, beds, umbrellas etc. They really care about you. I would like to say big Thank you to Musaffer, for all his help and assistance that he provided to us during our stay, and also to rest of personnel. Beach: Beautiful, endless and the color is amazing. A lot of space for everyone, cleaned in the morning. One thing that could be improved here: we really missed some sort of walk to the beach, this could be made from wood or something. As the walk from the pools finishes somewhere around beach bar and it's not very comfy to walk thru the sand, as beach is really wide. Gym: Visited squash and table tennis courts. These are brilliant, you also get water and towels. Facilities look very nice. We recommend this hotel.
