The service and the place was amazing. Luxurious room and was very clean and wide. The view of the room was as requested. People working there were kind and helpful. it has an access to the village and so you can also walk around the place and no need to leave the area. Quite for people who is looking for business meeting. The price is quite high for people with meduim/low income.
Our Emirates car dropped us off at the Ritz-Carlton at about 07:00 - but luckily our room was available - which was great. The check-in and porterage to our room was very efficient. We were allocated 2276 - which was well appointed and spotlessly clean. We took a late breakfast/light lunch in the Alba Lounge - which was excellent. The pool area was pretty busy (UK Half-terms, so lots of children) so we went to ‘the beach’ and a very helpful member of staff ‘sorted’ a couple of loungers; fresh towels, umbrella; and complimentary ice cold bottled water (refreshed). Pre-dinner Cocktails at the Sorso Bar were superb. However, come sunset things took a turn for the worse when we went to the evening buffet. Noting the hotel was fairly ‘full’ we delayed going to the Giornotte Restaurant until several hours after service had commenced. Although the restaurant was fairly quiet the buffet on offer was an abysmal selection - certainly nothing like that indicated on the hotel website. There were no chef-stations, so the choices were limited to the ‘buffet troughs’ - and an unappetising offering it was. The poor hygiene standards of the staff didn’t help - we witnessed a ‘chef’ replacing a buffet plate with a kitchen-fresh preparation - only to scrape the congealed left-overs (of the depleted plate) onto the fresh. Clearly no concept of health and safety. We complained and were attended to by Mr Stephane Briand - Giornotte Assistant Manager by title on his proffered business card). Mr Briand advised that due to guest numbers ‘the chef’ had decided to cancel all buffet chef-stations that evening (and previous evening) - but it would be back to normal the next evening. We believed Mr Briand - but his promises were empty - next evening was simply dreadful - so we didn’t return for the rest of our stay - rather we took dinner elsewhere outside the Ritz-Carlton. A great shame really - as the staff were individually very pleasant and helpful; and the hotel facilities clearly have been a significant investment. However the hotel website (for the Giornotte) is blatant mis-representation - the actual reality is a 1980’s 2-Star Spanish Costa Brava Experience. We would neither return to the Ritz-Carlton nor recommend it. Upon check-out the reception staff seemed most hurt when we advised we would not return.
This hotel is without doubt the most fantastic hotel that we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in some fantastic hotels around the world. On arrival which was late ish 9.15pm the magical experience started, nothin was too much trouble. We'd upgraded to an executive suite which was located slap bang central to the hotel overlooking the pool with amazing views especially at night across the canal. The level of service given in every area of the hotel from the reception to pool side to any of the restaurants was above 1st class with three members of staff Rafiq, Sami, and Phae who's service and efforts to help should earn them a promotion! I must mention the restaurants from the breakfast to the high class dining we experienced and especially the Asian which we visited twice (pure class) and a must try if you visit even if you are not staying in this hotel. This trip was already for a special occasion but made all that more special by staying in this hotel (thank you) we will defiantly revisit
Hotel is out of the city. Very close to the Grand Mosque. Had a club lounge room with a beautiful, amazing view of the Grande Mosque. In the evening it is lit up blue. Quite a big hotel, it does have an adults pool besides a big family pool. There are sun beds on a small beach on the canal. Our room was a good size, lovely comfy beds, balcony with table and chairs. The Club Lounge was fabulous, hot food lunch and in the evening, free drinks from 12.00 lunchtime to about 10.00 in the evening. Large club lounge with comfy sofas. We were on half board so didn't eat there. Drinks expensive by the pool.
stayed recently at this hotel for a few nights ... i knew the hotel was great ... but it was more than great now, especially because of the top club lounge: top service, highly personal attention, proactive, extra 10 mile service, top food .. in short: the club lounge is a sort of cherry on top of the cake !! a must have
The Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal, Abu Dhabi, is one of my favourite Ritz-Carltons. We stayed there with a conference, and the level of service we were offered was outstanding. The ladies and gentlemen are very helpful, and are an asset to the hotel! The pool area and beach area are also worth a visit.
I love the confort of the beds. I really feel refreshed the next day. The SPA is also a nice experience. Take tje time to spend some time at the spa. The pool is also nice. A lot of restaurants at the hotel. Try them all.
The Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi ranks extremely high in my list of top hotels around the world. Twice have I been as a guest there for business, and twice have enjoyed my stay. The food is superb, the staff are friendly and efficient, the hotel itself is amazing, and the overall feeling is very positive. I highly recommend this hotel to all.
If you are having guest and don't mind spending take them to Friday Brunch at the Ritz.. Our guests were overwhelmed by the variety, quality and beauty. There is a room of beautiful cheeses and a dessert room that would be the envy of Willy Wonka Brunch is served in Giornotte's from 1pm to 4pm.
Good looking hotel but very poor customer service. Been told bread was over at breakfast as chef was lazy to bring more out- he did magically bring some when I said I will be complaining. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere location wise which is fine if that's what you want but not good when it's what you want and the pool shuts 8 times due to some kids pooing in the pool...no compensation offered for the time lost (about 10 hours over 7 days) .. No real beach, just a canal that has sand and beachfront so cannot see the horizon.
