Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort

The Sheraton Abu Dhabi is a very nice hotel steps away from the Corniche. There are several stores and restaurants within walking distance. Taxis are readily available at the lobby and relatively cheap, and for us, more economical than public transportation. The lobby is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are on the small side, as is the balcony, which is too small for enjoying. The beds are comfortable, with nice linens and plenty of bedside storage (with reading lights, too). Free bottled water (in addition to coffee & tea) was plentiful and restocked daily. The bathrooms are large, with beautiful marble, lots of storage space, and a separate shower and a large tub. Bathroom amenities were great and more than the standard fare: in addition to the standard shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion, there was mouthwash, shower cap, sewing kit, bath loofah (my favorite, I still use mine), vanity kit (cotton facial pads and swabs) shaving kit, dental kit (toothbrush and toothpaste) and 2 bathrobes. Very nice! The two pools were very nice (the smaller one has a small water slide). There always seemed to be enough lounge chairs, even if you arrived later in the day. We weren’t too thrilled with the beach, since it’s more like a lagoon, so the water is colder and a little murky. We are happy that we upgraded to the Club lounge. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was delicious, and pretty much anything you could want to eat is there. Having all-day access to the lounge meant we really never needed to eat at other restaurants (we saved tons of money, so the upgrade more than paid for itself). Even though the food choices were limited (it was a lounge, not a restaurant, so the limited choices were expected), we almost always found something we liked. In general, afternoon snacks were cold (i.e. sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc.) and evening appetizers were hot (pasta, fish, meatballs, meat patties, etc.). The lounge also had unlimited soft drinks all day, and specialty alcoholic beverages from 6-8 pm each evening. There were also all-day snacks, juice, coffee, tea and desserts. The Lounge staff was great, and made sure to have a last-call before the 8 pm hour drew near. Wi-Fi was included in the Club level and worked very well (FYI, FaceTime is not allowed in the UAE). There are several computers in the lounge to use. The biggest plus for the hotel is the staff. They were always cordial, professional, and helpful. We had a medical incident during our stay (not related to the hotel), and the hotel kindly (and without expense) rushed my family member to the hospital. That gesture was greatly appreciated by my family!

I travelled with my mother on this holiday. The resort is well placed, and has excellent staff. We booked a twin room but had to fight for this when we arrived. The front desk stated that they didn't have any twin rooms, even though I produced the booking paperwork to state that is what we'd booked and paid for. Additionally, they wouldn't take a debit card as security, and I had to front up with 1000 dirhams in cash. The room when we finally got it, was tired and small but the beds were comfortable. The restaurant staff were superb, as were those by the pool but the front of house leave an awful lot to be desired. During our stay my mother had a fall, down some steps that were badly lit and unsafe. Whilst she does use a stick, it would be easy for an able bodied person to fall in the same place. The restaurant staff were excellent, but nobody from management came to see us to see if my mother was ok. On leaving the hotel we asked for late check out but were constantly refused. It took me to remind them of their risk assessment shortcomings before we were given a late checkout. I wonder why one has to "throw ones toys out of the pram" for management to take any note. I visit The Emirates most years and would not re-visit this hotel based solely on the bad impressions caused by front of house. A shame

Well, As I'm choosing SPG hotels wherever they are available, this time I spent some time in Sheraton. My general impression wasn't bad, but this is not the best offer, from these on what Sheraton can afford. Definitely, location and staff are two strong points of that hotel, but room quality or Club Lounge could be better. Anyway, for business trips, that's good and quite flexible proposal. For longer family stay - not, at least in my opinion.

Excellent Service,Great Location,Lots of Restaurants,Great Club room,Great range of breakfast.Excellent pool area and kids pool.Excellent beach location.Only negative no undercover parking for your vehicle.

Just back from a week all inclusive at this hotel. Pools are great and the facilities in general are of a high standard. The location is good too with several shops etc within walking distance or short taxi ride if too hot. All in all a great break. Special mention to Jacob (towels) Anthony and Ajith (pool bar) Hazel and Warana(flavours) and Elsie in the club lounge.

For a small private beach resort, Sheraton definitely exceeds expectations as it delivers privacy, comfort, and enjoyment through its amenities, services, and wonderful ambiance. It is situated wonderfully in front of the beach and has its own fairly sized pool with an in-pool bar. You will most likely see tourists checking in and lounging around the area - mostly Europeans. The gym is also excellent. Went here during Ramadan and we expected their buffet restaurant to be closed but surprisingly it wasn't and served ample amount of food with lots of choices. Sheraton is also the home of where I got my diving lessons/certification/license. And now I'm a certified open water diver! :D Lovely place!! Thank you, Sheraton! PS. Sometimes there are parties during the night with DJs making music and all. Not sure about the schedule though.

The hotel has the amenities of a Sheraton with a fine location on a small private beach on a small lagoon. It was a pleasant stay for 2 days. The fitness center is well equipped and not intensely used at least not when I went there early morning. The restaurant was great for breakfast. The club amenities were generous and appreciated. Very helpful staff and an intriguing location.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel on the all inclusive deal only 25 mins from the airport .25 mins from Yas island and only 10 mins from the new part of Abu Dhabi the check in was really smooth the staff were very helpful the room was nice with a pool view most of the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Vijay at the cloud 9 bar and rayan at the flavours restaurant above and beyond their duties at the swim up bar it was a bit hit and miss sometimes serve you with a smile sometimes not . The food was of a good standard and plenty of choice great base to explore Abu Dhabi

We booked this hotel for a two night stopover prior to a cruise and in particular because it was a 10 minute taxi ride from the cruise terminal. It also had pretty good customer ratings. We were not disappointed. Reception staff on arrival welcoming and business like. A good start and a positive initial impression. The bedroom was a good size and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay. For the business executive an office layout with desk in a bedroom alcove- a nice touch. Breakfast was impressive with a large food assortment to cater for a wide range of nationalities. Oh dear they have not got bacon right but we should not expect that I guess in a Muslim country. We had dinner one night in one of the restaurants. We really enjoyed it- a good menu choice, well cooked and appetising food. Prices very reasonable as was the cost of the entire stay. What about the negatives. Only one I am glad to say which, was the pub attached and part of the hotel. Very noisy and the decor-Oh dear the pub needs a SERIOUS FACELIFT. We had a snack there on the first night. Our advice-give this one a miss! All in all a good stay so go for it!!

I used the SPG app to locate a hotel in Abu Dhabi for an overnight stay and a club room at the Sheraton seemed exceptional value. Check in was early and easy and we took advantage of a light lunch in the club lounge. The hotel is obviously one of the older establishments in Abu Dhabi but it has charm and a bit of character and the rooms have been tastefully updated with good amenities. There are a choice of pools and the beach which gives plenty of loungers whatever time of day. The Spanish restaurant was the choice for the evening and the tapas was plentiful having opted for the set menu including sangria. The only complaint would be the service at breakfast ... I know it was 10.00am and it closes at 10.30am but the clue is in the notice ... serve until 10.30am as you would at 7.30am ... I don't like to be treated as an inconvenience. Aside from that, it was a very enjoyable overnight stay and we will be back again soon.
