What did I love? The bed, the pool, the gym, the breakfast buffet! Also, the housekeeping team really did a great job keeping the room clean. The team had serviced my room one day; when I returned from an outing, I took a shower. When the team did the turn-down service, they cleaned my bathroom again and replaced my towels. What would I like to see improve? More vegan options.
I stay in Sofitel all around the world, but mainly Australia. I was so disappointed with this Sofitel. VERY expensive and the pool pretty old. Decor was dated, aircon noisy and food expensive. Staff were friendly
I love big hotel buffet breakfasts and Sofitel does it well. The hostess, Catherine, is absolutely delightful and helpful, as are all the servers. I had 2 different rooms: both offered comfy beds, good reading lights but carpeting is a big stained. Room cleaning was mostly about making a bed. The service was inconsistent (no face cloths most days, double shampoo or soap, sometimes leaving 1 bottle of water, other times 2). There is a decent little gym and a 358m pool. Be prepared for high prices (captive) and not much in the neighborhood.
This is over all a very fine hotel! Elegantly appointed with comfortable rooms with nice amenities, and the best bed I have ever slept on. There are good restaurants and attentive, friendly staff, there's even a movie theater. However, the only reason I did not rate it a five is that once you step off the elevators onto the floors above the musty smell of moldy carpeting hits you like a wall. Whoever thought wall to wall carpeting in such a hot and humid city was a good idea? Lose that and stick with the nice tile/marble/etc. surfaces as in your lovely lobby and this hotel get 5 stars! I'd easily recommend this place to anyone except those sensitive to damp musty carpets.
I attended a conference at Sofitel. Mixed feelings as this is by far the most expensive hotel I ever stayed in - and I travelled extensively! Food, drink and accomodation were the most expensive I ever had to pay in my entire traveling life. They are out to rip off tourist! The facility were mostly 4 star with good super expensive food! In a poor country they know they probably have the best facility around and you will pay and pay and pay for it!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Sofitel! From the very first steps walking in to the enthusiastic greeting from the hotel staff, to falling asleep in the comfortable bed every night, I really loved my stay at the Sofitel. While my room wasn't huge, it was clean, comfortable, and modern. I missed having a bathtub, but the shower was absolutely outstanding with terrific water pressure. I must compliment the air conditioning - my room was absolutely crisp every evening. My sleep quality was fantastic at Sofitel! I loved having dinner outside each night at Le Pavillion, watching the sun set over the water and palm trees while enjoying langoustines and prawns. Delicious. If you walk over to the other tower, there is a happy hour special each night with buy one get one drinks. Just ask for the menu behind the bar and enjoy! I had a great massage on evening that I was able to walk up and book. I wish I had spent more time at Sofitel so I could have had a spa weekend. I didn't bring my bathing suit so didn't take advantage of that incredible pool, but really wish I had! Definitely visit the chocolate store for amazing chocolate - makes a great souvenir or a tasty treat during your stay!
My experience at Sofitel Abidjan was wonderful albeit my check in delayed a bit. Mr. Faye, a very wonderful personality and highly professional. Nice city view, clean restaurant, that long pool and the few minutes behind the piano. That's my spot for winter holidays with my family. Thank you Sofitel ! Thank you Mr. Faye !!
It was always one of the best hotels in Abidjan ... but after my last experience .. it was my last stay. The room was OK, but the airco was bad. The restaurants were not good. What can I say ... a disappointing experience
You cannot fault Sofitel. Without a doubt one of the best hotels in Abidjan - it seems to be very much “ the place where business is done” Facilities are exactly what is expected- and make no mistake this is charged accordingly.
I was not impressed with the length of time it took to check me in. Even though I checked in online. What's the point of checking in on line. The Duty manager was borderline rude. I will not be staying at Sofitel Abidjan again!
