We booked a private room with a TV and private bathroom. What we received was a small room with no tv and a walk across a shared kitchen to access a shared bathroom. We were greeted by what I assume is the owner, we did not see him again after we had settled into our room. We were relying on the laundry facilities and private bathroom that was listed, as we were finishing week 1 of a 3 week trip. The dryer was not functioning, and the only option for drying our clothes was to make our way through the jungle of an unkempt backyard to a clothes line.
We tried to call the number listed on Expedia with no answer. After sending multiple messages through Expedia, we received no communication regarding our concerns. We decided to settle and find a new place in the morning. When we awoke, we found that a significant amount of debris had made its way into the building and bathroom, along with what appeared to be a leak from the toilet (we HOPE it was a leak from the toilet)
This was FAR worse than a "you get what you pay for situation". We strongly strongly advise against booking with this property unless you are comfortable with a shared bathroom and aren't afraid to do some mopping and cleaning on your own. And if you are, book a place that is priced accordingdingly.
