The hotel is really old. Requires renovation. The room is tiny (I booked not the smallest room; so tey have even smaller - can't imagine how is it looking like). Bathroom is even more tiny. Breakfast is good enough, internet is for free. Location is great - in the very center, it could not be better. However since I am coming for business location is not that important, so I will not come back again.

Nice reception and welcome, centrally situated, excellent breakfast and good value. Room was modern and well furnished, shower room very clean and well planned, towels and toil;etries very good. The only key problem was the "double" bed - actually was a 5' 6" double so not misled, but the standard we were used to is a Kingsize double ie 6'x6', so was cramped and with one of us having a back problem uncomfortable, so only some 3-4 hours sleep with interruptions. Ironically there was space to accomodate a wider bed, so unless reassured in a future room booking cannot consider staying here again

Stayed 2 nights with friends over the weekend. Reception staff very helpful and always in attendance. Room very clean and spacious. Bathroom immaculate and decent shower. Perfect location for the city centre and 5 minute walk to the railway station. Would use again. Parking is £10 a day which is too steep.

Checked-in online which was painless. Arrived at hotel and was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist who presented us with our room card, she asked us if we had stayed at the hotel before, which we had, several times, she then explained the breakfast procedure and times and wished us a great stay. The room was clean and functional with a warm bathroom with plenty towels and soaps. Bed was comfortable and the TV was huge, perhaps too big for the size of the room. Breakfast was busy but there was plenty of food to choose from.

This charming hotel is located above the Terrace Gardens just down the street from Union Street. The staff is fantastic, interactive and as helpful as can be. The hotel is older and has the authentic charm that fits. The price is great. Breakfast was the most memorable of our five week adventure, went back for more black pudding, I'm a yank and the thought of black pudding is revolting. Aberdeen is one of the coolest, hippist cities in Scotland. Food from all over, pubs, music and a university atmosphere that is fertile for intellectual conversation. Aberdeen is a safe, beautiful city with big granite shoulders and the good folks at the Mercure Caledonian will be happy to guide you. Oh yea, there's a beach there as well.

Stayed here overnight this week and had a pleasant stay.very handy for shopping as it's very central to the town. We had a lovely big room but could be doing with a better clean, the net curtains did not look very clean and were very crushed looking.quite a lot of dust about on the cupboard handles etc, but the very worst was the chair in the room,we did not even use it,was so bad.we were in room 422 so hopefully the management will check this out. The parking at the hotel is a bit steep at £10 a night ,I would really have grudge this if we were more than 1 night

Stayed for business for 1 night, great central location, quick check in, restaurant and bar on site. I asked for a quiet room as the hotel is located on a busy street so I expect there is some traffic noise with rooms at the front - my request was granted and a I had a lovely room, clean and quiet, great power rain shower!. Perfect after a long day! Slippers, and toiletries were included. Breakfast was hot and cold buffet, plenty of choice. Location of the hotel is just off the main high street so pretty central and close to shops and restaurants if you need them. Decor of the hotel is lovely, big, classic staircases. Would defiantly stay again for business or pleasure.

Well situated hotel in the city centre but overall the rooms and hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade. Staff were friendly and helpful service was efficient. We did not have evening meal I the hotel as the menu was uninspiring and breakfast was a it chaotic with some items not available on the buffet and when we requested scrambled eggs they took ages to arrive. Overall we would not book again.

Me and my new husband came here for mini honeymoon, and upon arrival we where delighted to be told we had been updated to the Gordon suit..lovely spacious room massive bed lovely modern bathroom. My husband and I liked the dressing gowns but to my husbands approval they did not have ties to tie them 😂. .would definitely be back again, breakfasts was lovely and staff friendly.

We have stayed in the hotel before in a standard room which was fine. When we returned this time we booked a deluxe room, we were disappointed to find it was almost identical to the standard room also it didn't look if it had a proper clean in a while. When we checked out this morning it wasn’t a pleasant experience It's a shame because it's a lovely hotel which has let it's standards drop.
