Pros: Location, partially refurbished rooms and bed. Cons: Noise, lack of attention to detail, light coming through the gaps of the door frame at night. Full Scottish breakfast: very salty sausage, the bacon, black pudding, haggis and eggs were okay. Bread rolls were not fresh, it felt pretty much stale. The standard toasts bread was okay. Good waiting staff, not intrusive but available! Supporting comments: Extremely noisy at night, its central location becomes its main disadvantage... thank God the local pubs don't close too late. Also, the light of the corridor slips through the gaps between the door and the doorframe into the room at night and can't be blacked out. The room has been refurbished recently, but the containers of the bathroom toiletries were dirty and had not been replenished (they were almost empty). The lack of attention to detail is notorious. The room has no small fridge nor safe, the bed is comfortable and is equipped with firm enough pillows to provide with a restful sleep... shame about the light and noise!!! I got a good rate on a holiday portal, otherwise I wouldn't pay their rates.

Stayed at The Douglas Hotel last Thursday where we stayed for a night. The room was very clean and tidy and the decor was also nice. Every thing from the bed to the shower was great and it was a reasonable price too. I would definitely recommend the Hotel to anyone staying at Aberdeen. Also, the staff were kind and friendly

I stayed there 2 days in July 2017. Company paid hotel, would never have spend my hard earned money in this hotel. Breakfast was below average, food, well I didn't eat there as the menu didn't look appetizing and prices too high. The rooms was average, but the weird part is that the windows was held open with a big thick book, very old fashioned. Good thing about this hotel was it was in walking distance to the whole inner city. The day time girl in reception was rude and arrogant. Would not go there again. Would ask company to fins another hotel for me.

Aberdeen is a lovely city with lots of attractions including a beautiful beach so ideal for the changable Scottish weather. Hotel reception staff polite, efficient and very helpful. Location central for both city centre and transport. My room was spotlessly clean and a reasonable size. I would recommend this hotel.

The location of hotel is excellent as it is super near the bus station. My room was very clean. Good value. The breakfast was decent. Cons: I didn't liked the windows as they were old and dangerous. It requires a lot of effort to open the window, which I think is very poor. In addition, during hot weather, our room was unbearable as it lacked the fan.

Although, there was a lack of facilities in the room. for example. no mini bar, no safe, the room was spacious and comfortable, big double bed to sink into ! My only complaint was that The pillows were hard and lumpy :( but, Very Clean hotel and room. The room did have an Iron Board/ Iron in the wardrobe, I guess this is all you need ? My Wife and I had a very nice meal in the bistro. The stovies were very different from the way it is traditionally made. But was nice served with Beetroot and Oatcakes. Steak was cooked to perfection and the Apple Crumble tasted like Christmas ! Buffet breakfast is not my thing, as I prefer freshly cooked items, rather than sitting on a hotplate for a while. The fried eggs go rubbery like this and it is better to eat eggs fresh. Having said this I am sure that you could ask for fresh eggs, either poached or scrambled, as the staff were very friendly and polite. Oh sorry to tell you guys, you need to sort your coffee out ! The Coffee was shocking and I do not know how they managed to make this so badly. wrong :( Since everyone's experience is subjective, I would not let this review put you off. The staff were friendly and polite and the room was clean. You get what you pay for.

We attended our son & daughter in laws home wedding reception at the Douglas Hotel on Friday after their recent marriage in Cyprus. The function room was well laid out as was requested. The staff were amazing and so on the ball. The stovies and macaroni cheese were delicious. We stayed over, room was great and breakfast was excellent next morning. Thank you to all staff involved. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a large party or wedding reception.

Very comfortable and clean hotel. Room was a little on the small side but overall very good. Food is excellent and service always with a smile and helpful staff. This was a business trip but this hotel would be equally as good for tourists. I ate in the adjoining Mollys Bistro which has an excellent selection of sea food.

Enjoyed our stay in a fantastic room with a view of harbour , two comfortable chairs and huge bed. Staff are lovely and are very happy to help at all times.l got the impression if something was not quite right with our stay , staff would soon put things right.Breakfast was very good buffet style with again very attentive staff.

It is in a great location, an easy walk from the train and bus station. Good view of the shipping harbour from our room. The onsite restaurant and bar are ok. It is a bit of faded glory though, getting somewhat threadbare and tired looking.
