We stayed in a junior suite for week and loved the 2 room option with the kids with ability to leave door ajar. Very contemporary, large and lots of storage space for clothes. Amazing breakfast room and variety (with kids play room available). Only niggle was didn't feel the room was cleaned or stocks replenished as it would have been if we were new customers.
The hotel is really downtown and you can reach the most interesting places of the city on foot. The underground park is really handy. Room was comfortable and clean, even if it lacks any sort of view from the windows.
The Scandic hotel chain runs a fairly consistent theme throughout its locations in Denmark. The Aarhus Scandic City is located right by the central pedestrian shopping street and only minutes from the canal. Continental/Scandinavian breakfast buffet, with a comprehensive selection, including good cheeses and fruits. The bar stocks a reasonable selection of licquers (the rum selection was a nice surprise!). The hotel caters to families and you can expect to see families with young children staying there. Rooms come equipped with ironing board+iron and a cattle and instant coffee platter. Very good and fast wi-fi connection. Recommended if you are staying downtown Aarhus for a few days. Decent gym in the basement. Expect to hear lots of loud seagull if you open your window (it is a seatown, after all:) !
Nice scandic hotel with higher standards than average. Great location in the middle of the city centre with shopping and restaurants around the corner. Easy parking access with elevator from the hotel down to the parking garage. Good training facilities. There are two breakfast rooms, at least during summer, choose the upper one as it has a larger selection of breakfast items. Friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is located in the centre. The most importand points of interest can be reached by feet. Aarhus is avery interesting city. We recommend both, the city and the hotel. Parking is expensive. Room and breakfast were very good. It was a great trip.
A very nice, clean and friendly hotel, with a high standard and very professionel and serviceminded staff. Very nice and clean room, with modern decoration. Excellent restaurant with high quality and variety of food. A bar and loungearea, that sets an example - with very competent staff. Delicious breakfast with all kinds of possibilities. This Scandic hotel is very recommendable and others should look their way. I'll be back.
Family room is very small. Sofa bed a bit to hard to sleep in. Otherwise a good hotel. Great location. Aircondition was nice to have in july. Childrens playroom was a bit empty and not cozy at all. A bit to expansive
First a bit surprised at the high pricelevel - no summer rebate here, but understood better when we arrived to a full hotel with Scandinavian families. Effective checkin and out - above average breakfast buffet although under pressure from huge attendance - cleaning as one may expect it in a fast turn-around hotel, seen better but also worse. Several plusses fx parking cellar - but beware - cellar was full when we arrived back from a trip late afternoon, but you can find warehouse parkinghouse 100 meters away. Overall to my expectations.
I have no complaints about my stay. The room, the service, the breakfast buffet was all worth the highest rating! The location was perfect - right in the middle of Århus, which is a very beautiful city to discover.
The hotel was generally nice but there were three problems: I suffer from back pain when sleeping on a soft bed. I don't need a particularly firm bed, just not a very soft one and the beds I had in the Scandic were waaay too soft. I slept really badly and was in constant pain for the duration of my trip having slept in the bed for 2 nights. For the following 2 nights I stacked the mattress toppers from the 2 single beds on the floor and was almost comfortable. If you've never had a problem with soft beds then they might well be fine. The hot bits of the breakfast were a little on the cold side. The car park under the hotel was often full. This was in part because the hotel rents out some of the parking spaces so it was "full" despite lots of empty spaces being visible.
