Scandic Aarhus City

The hotel is centrally located in town. One can easily walk to the City Viking Museum, the famous Aarhus Cathedral, and the Old town Museum and many fantastic shops. Although the room could use a face lift, it does have all the necessarties, electric tea kettle, complementary tea bags... Staffs are cordial and helpful. The buffet breakfast is delicious with many choices. Loved their ginger shot. Remember to bring with you an electricity adaptor. No wash towel is provided.

The Aarhus Scandic is as central as can be to CBD and is a fine hotel for business purposes and a one or two night stay. It is however rather dirty and little run down. Note the scuff marks around the skirting boards in the lift lobbies. In our room their were likewise many stuff marks on the walls and the venetian blind cord simply fell off in my hand. As with many Scandic hotels the breakfast is predictable an invariant, the lobby bar over priced and their is no minibar or fridge in the room. At DKK 1500 a night I do not consider this value for money but rather a necessary expense.

A classic business type of hotel in a very, central location. The hotel has what you need, including a friendly staff. Rooms vary in size, but some of the standard double rooms are really small with just about enough space for the beds. The hotel comes across as a little worn down and the furniture somewhat out of date. However, I must say you sleep well in the beds and the rooms are clean.

Hotel is next to the bus stop for the number 18 to Moesgaard Museum and Tivoli with all other main attractions and bus/train station within walking distance. Superior room perfect for 2 adults 1 child

Good location and breakfast, friendly staff and quiet helpful, good transportation available around hotel very good buffet breakfast available. it would be good if they provide a refrigerator in the rooms. View from the rooms is quiet good

well to start with they do not have a bell desk so you have to look for a trolley and carry your own luggage . Parking is off site 5 min walk and expensive. Breakfast is nice and so is the bar . Located pretty well but there are better located hotels around with service . all in all a business hotel and not a 5 star family hotel .

The hotel has basic but comfortable rooms with a very modern aesthetic. But it does have a couple of odd design choices... for example, the hangers in the closet are so low that if you put anything on them they will drape onto any luggage on the luggage rack below. The rooms also get a moderate amount of noise from the street. But the hotel is well located, just off of the walking main street and walking distance from the train station and most of the best restaurants in town. In terms of amenities, the breakfast buffet is above average even by Danish standards. I would, however, dine out for lunch and dinner. There are excellent options within a couple of blocks. The workout room is small but reasonably well equipped. I would definitely return here if visiting Aarhus again.

If you want to depart from Danish cuisine, try the cheeseburger and fries in the cocktail bar!! Dark greens - good beef, great bun. My wife says it is the best she has ever had. This is a hotel that caters to meetings and conferences, so the lobby area can go from empty to packed when attendees break from sessions. I had a problem with their WiFi setup not allowing the use of my remote access software. I was surprised, given their prominence in the business community. We opted for deluxe room as we saw from other reviews that rooms can be small. Ours was spacious, contemporary and bright.

Rooms are a decent size, with very very soft beds- remember your pain medicine! Appears quite modern yet very dark and gloomy in corridors, would be depressing in winter. Breakfast is a good 'fast food affair', nothing appears freshly baked only reheated, but there is a large selection and plenty of space. Staff is nowhere to be seen Reception staff is efficient and have good English and people skills. Parking is in the basement but expensive and the entrance and each parking booth is very narrow - do not attempt in large car, it'll cost in insurance copayment. Location for city activities could not be better.

I struggled to find a suitable hotel in Aarhus which is surprising for such large town. We stayed here for one night and I would recommend it. It is a fairly typical chain hotel in the medium price bracket. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. It is in a very central location with shops and restaurants nearby and a short walking distance from the main sights. Our room was large and mostly comfortable apart from the bed. The buffet breakfast is really excellent with everything you could possibly want and it was included in our room rate which makes the overall price good value. We parked in the car park below the hotel - it is not possible to make reservations in the car park and when we arrived there were no spaces so you have to wait for someone to leave. It is best to take this into account when you arrive. There are lifts from the car park to the reception area and the rooms but nobody to help with bags. Overall we had a good stay and would stay here again. We used the Grill restaurant for a meal and took it to our room.
