Beautiful Hotel and great staff. I would stay again. This hotel is a little off the beaten path and could use a small convenience store. Another item which would be a benefit to the hotel would be a small fridge and coffee tea kettle in room. No suppers served on weekends. There is a coffee pot and tea station in the lobby.

Amazing location in Aarhus and we booked for the sea view + spa, but the stay was unfortunately underwhelming. One day before arrival we were told the spa was closed due to repairs and we could cancel. With family + pregnancy and no good last-minute alternatives, we still checked in (stressful start). At check-in we were then told the restaurant was closed (except breakfast) and our family room was in the annex. Even after sharing our disappointment, we were told nothing could be done. The room was nice, but the view was to a parking area, and being in the annex meant extra hassle (and cold winter walks) to reach breakfast/spa. After contacting Hotels.com, we were offered a room in the main building — but with an additional fee. That change made a big difference and the experience improved a lot. Unfortunately, the same day the sauna went out of use for the rest of our stay. We also saw guests walking around the pool area in running shoes, and reception didn’t see it as a red flag until we insisted. This hotel has real potential, but right now it’s a “maybe stay” rather than a must.

Overnattede en enkelt nat i forbindelse med bryllup på Varna Palæet. Fik et værelse i annekset, det var rent og fint. Dejligt at det ligger i skygge om morgenen. Vær opmærksom på dør højden, er man høj kan man slå hovedet. Morgenmaden på den udendørs terrasse var lækker og varieret. Vi undrede os dog over at man som gæst på hotellet skal betale kr. 100 for parkering. Det er dyrt når hotellet ligger langt fra centrum.

Fantastisk beliggenhed — men trænger hårdt til en renovering Hotellet har en absolut fantastisk beliggenhed, der er svær at komme udenom. Desværre er selve hotellet præget af forældet indretning med mørke sten og slidte tæpper, som trækker helheden markant ned. Faciliteterne trænger til et grundigt makeover. Et konkret eksempel er bruseren i kvindeomklædningsrummet ved swimmingpoolen, som ikke virker — et grundlæggende problem, der burde være udbedret for længst. Både morgenmad og middagsmad var acceptable, men bestemt ikke imponerende for et hotel i 4-stjerne-klassen.
