This property lags behind others at a similar price point. There is construction 24/7. It isn't just here and there but everywhere. The beach is nice (a plus). On a 5 day trip, one entire floor of hotel flooded with sewage, one tower (10 floors) had no elevator service for two-day period, wi-fi was 50/50. The pools are small, the hot tubs are sort of warm with no jets. It is a bit secluded, which was cool but all in all, just lagging. Activities advertised were not readily available (boogie boards, kayaks, paddle boards). There is a sea turtle sanctuary and hatch/release program which is pretty cool. The staff was friendly and attentive, just the facility is falling behind.

The hotel is great, and the food in the different restaurants was excellent. The beach is swimmable but of-course not as blue as the Caribbean waters.
This is a lovely, safe clean property. It is my second trip here and I am already planning my third. I could not ask for more.

Beautiful resort
Very disappointing that the resort didn't have any AC in the restaurants .!!!! The weather was hot and humid!! Terrible!!
I liked the place and facilities, attention was good. Maybe some room for improvement in meals options and quality.
Hyatt Ziva was fantastic. My partner and I loved the private beach, dining options, and staff. There were sting rays in the water - mostly very small (the size of a salad plate) but some were larger. They are harmless - this is good to know as they get very close to humans. The water is so warm and clean. The free paddle boards and kayaks from the hotel were a great touch! The breakfast and lunch buffet were surprisingly fantastic. Dinners were hit or miss. Blaze had a great lunch, but the dinner was just ok. The Asian option had fantastic appetizers. Special shout out to Jose at the pool bar - he was very attentive! He remembered our drinks, would look out to you in the pool, give a nod (asking if we needed another), and would have a drink ready before you had time to swim back to the bar! We also enjoyed the free jungle hike and many events that the hotel put on thru the week. We would be very happy to come back - might even bring the kids next time (they had a lot of family friendly events).
The service was impeccable. Everyone on staff was so kind and so welcoming. Armando in particular who is part of the restaurant leadership team was so thoughtful and wonderful to our family. We will definitely be going back!
