Awesome resort, best food by far for properties we have stayed at over the years. Had nice pools to keep the kids entertained, daily activities to ensure you had something to do if you never left the resort. Ran out of time to enjoy all of the included perks but plan on visiting again in the future. Favorite activity we did make use of was the glass bottom boat ride and snorkeling. You can snorkel right from the shore outside your room or hop on their boat and see even more great coral and fish. Great food and friendly staff. One day at the buffet they were out of fish when I went up with my plate, without me saying anything, they noticed and had someone walk to my table and give me a plate which was presented as if it came from a dinner restaurant.
This hotel is a hidden gem for families with children under the age of 10. The fact that a nanny is assigned to each family is amazing . Parents can have some quiet , relaxing time while the kids are being entertained. Our nanny was amazing, my girls are still talking about her. I would recommend some entertainment for the adults, and food options betweeen main meals . In all I would definitely return if traveling with my children.
Very disappointed. I did not know how the hotel can rate 4 star hotel, it just likes motel level. First of all, the blanket on the sheet so dirty, you can see dirt and hairs on it. The furnitures in the room are so old and dirty, looks like grandpa age. Second of all, only have one restaurant available to serve, which the hotel claim that they have variety restaurants to open. Last, we did not need clean lady to clean everyday, just asked for clean towels everyday, however, everyday we need requested at least 3 times, and it takes 2-3 hours to deliver the clean towels. The only good thing is open bar, we can get different drinks right now if you sit on the bar. I will definitely NOT recommend this hotel.

The property was clean and staff was excellent. Having a nanny for the entire stay was a major plus. I would rather more Jamaican food choices for dinner but overall it was great. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.
The place was run down, pool was filthy, kids pool I wouldn’t even put my dog to swim in it was so dirty. Food was nasty, no variety. Staff was friendly and nice all except the front desk I had a few issues with otherwise great. Spa was EXCELLENT!! Give that lady a raise cuz she deserves. Lifeguard spent my entire 7 day stay catering to one family’s child and nobody else. I asked him 2 separate times to help my son swim he told me he’s working with another child. The same family every hour of every day. Wow. Terrible. Our nanny was great. I would never go back and I do not recommend.

This was a vacation for us, working parents, who rarely get a break. The resort is not large but large enough. It reminds me of a village where all guests get to know each other, if they choose to do so. Otherwise, you can lay low and be relaxed.
Everything from the apartment style rooms to the food was excellent. Wish there were more buffet nights since our kids have big appetites, but it was a great time spent.

This resort is lovely. Our nanny, Ms. Stacy was so through and loving towards our son. Our room was always clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent as well.
We had a great time here with our children (4 years, almost 2 years, and 3 months). The facilities (room itself, gym) are dated and there are no frills, but when you’re looking for a tropical vacation who cares? We were outside most of the time and there were plenty of beach/poolside chairs and that’s what mattered most to us. The beach is small and not the white sand beach you envision but it was ok. What made this place great was definitely the nannies. We hired a 2nd nanny and it was absolutely worth it. My husband and I got some much needed time to ourselves. I read 2 books. We actually got to relax. Definitely recommend to people with young children who need full time supervision!
FDRs competitive advantage is definitely their vacation nannies. For husbands and wives looking for some alone time on their family vacation, this resort gets the mark. The vacation nanny wil cater to your young child's ever desire (in the case of my 9 year old daughter, sending hours in the pool going down one of their pool slide). The food was great and the staff extremely accommodating. I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends with children!
This is our 3rd stay at FDR and we will definitely be coming back! From the minute you open the taxi door you feel like you are home! The staff, nannies, activity coordinators are all second to none. They immediately feel like family! The pool, ocean, activities, Kid's Club, bar, restaurants are beautiful, comfortable, safe, clean and make for a perfect place to relax and have a wonderful family vacation!
Overall, I felt the hotel was good. Nanny service is terrific. The one complaint would be that the food is certainly not top-notch...but you aren't going here for the food and it is probably good enough for the price point of the hotel.
We loved our time at the Franklyn D Resort. Though the hotel itself is not fancy, the rooms are spacious and adequate and the staff is outstanding. Our vacation nanny Tashana was amazing and kept our kids happy and entertained the whole time. We were able to spend time with them as well as have some time to ourselves, which was a huge bonus. The beach is glorious and the staff -- from the font office to the life guards to the servers -- could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. We hope to go back, as so many people seem to!
What everybody says about this place is true: fabulous people make it. Tremendously enjoyable stay. Wouldn't go without kids. Perfection with them.

Thank you for sharing your review following your stay with us. We maintain excellent cleaning standards at FDR. You denied the housekeeping service daily and then you complained that the room is dirty- This is just not fair. You also did not want anyone to go inside your suite throughout your stay. In case anything was overlooked the Nanny/Housekeeper would be able to identify and resolve any issues. As a matter of fact, our records show that one of the Nannies that dropped off towels to you at your room assisted with an issue you had with your toilet immediately and you thanked her. Your Suite was inspected after your departure and it’s in pristine condition and was used the same day of your departure.We appreciate your comments about the bar

This is a hatchet Job.. This family consists of a grandmother, mother and a 5 yr old mildly autistic child.- All with heavy Jamaican connections. Our records indicate that the 5 year old was not yet potty trained and there was no mention of this information when the reservation was made. Our records indicate that the Grandmother engaged in a long expletive filled Jamaican cuss word tirade, on the phone , trying to locate the whereabouts of a barrel, on Tuesday afternoon on the room Block. Security was called to get her evicted but she vanished on the room block and checked out on Thursday after holding up the departure bus to the Airport, because she intended to stay in Jamaica. Our 3 pools are continuously cleaned and tested 3 times daily. Our records indicate that all our readings during your stay were normal. We received excellent reviews about our food during the week you stayed. Food options throughout your stay included our Jamaican Night Buffet, which is one of our most anticipated nights of the week, French Cuisine, Italian Cuisine and the Beach Grill. Our Records indicate that you loved the Jamaican Breakfasts and porridge offered in the mornings. There was live nightly entertainment such as cabaret shows, steel band and a reggae band throughout your stay. We had many happy guests in-house who thoroughly enjoyed these performances. We would not accept this family back at FDR.

Your family arrived on a Saturday night which is our Jamaica Night Buffet-a Celebration of Jamaican Food that includes items such as: Escovitch fish, bammy, plantains, sweet potatoes, festival, Bake Chicken, Curried Goat, rice and peas and white rice, Pepper Pot soup, an array of local vegetables and assorted local desserts such as gizzada, pudding, cheesecake, coconut drops etc. This is one of the most anticipated nights for our guests who want to try authentic Jamaican Cuisine. On selected nights we do offer Indian Cuisine, French Cuisine and Italian Cuisine. We are sorry that you did not stay longer to enjoy these options. Our Resident Musician played until 9:00pm on Saturday Night with Karaoke following right after at the main bar. On Sunday Night we had our French Night and our fire dancer and cultural show. We appreciate your kind comments about our staff. Your comments will be useful in improving our FDR Experience.
