Starting at Lilydale Train Station with a safety briefing, we set off together on a 40km journey through the heart of the Yarra Valley. Our rider leaders will check in with every participant before we depart. Once travelled by steam trains carrying produce from the Yarra Valley, the historic railway line now offers a peaceful path through towering gums, rolling farmland, vineyards & charming country towns. With gentle gradients and plenty to discover along the way, the Rail Trail is the perfect way to experience the Yarra Valley - combining local history, stunning scenery and the simple pleasure of exploring on two wheels. Ride through Lilydale, Mt Evelyn, Wandin. Along the way, meet like-minded travelers, share stories, enjoy a few laughs and eXperience the journey together. Start strangers. Ride as a group. Finish friends.

Seville

Hidden among the bushland of Seville & sitting directly on the Rail Trail, Carriage Café is one of those special places you’d never discover unless you knew where to look. Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian passenger train carriage, this unique café has a wonderful history - and there’s something pretty special about arriving here by e-bike. We literally ride into the café, park bikes and settle in for morning tea. Choose a freshly made barista coffee or cool drink, then relax and enjoy a generous selection of local produce and a few surprise treats, all while sharing the eXperience with your fellow riders. All included! A favourite gathering place for cyclists, walkers and even horse riders, Carriage Café gives us the perfect opportunity to slow down, refuel and soak up the atmosphere before continuing our journey through the Yarra Valley towards Killara & Woori Yallock.

Launching Place

Our ride continues to Launching Place, a beautiful slice of old Yarra Valley. Once a vital stopping point for supplies heading towards the Gippsland goldfields, timber and goods were loaded onto flat-bottomed boats and launched upstream - giving the town its name. Depending on the day, we’ll either enjoy a wine tasting at a unique local winery or stop at the Home Hotel. Built in 1883, the former 1865 post office is a much-loved local landmark full of character and true country charm - a place designed to make you feel right at home! A little town with a big story, right in the heart of the Yarra Valley. The last leg awaits, as we ride via river flats, towering forests and peaceful countryside through smaller towns in Yarra Junction, Wesburn & Millgrove.

Warburton

As we complete our ride, we arrive in Warburton - a charming riverside town nestled among the lush mountains of the Yarra Valley. With misty forests, winding trails and the gentle flow of the Yarra River, it’s the perfect place to slow down and soak up the atmosphere. We ride straight into the historic Alpine Hotel, originally built in 1885 and recently restored to its former glory. With beautiful surroundings, generous meals and a well-earned cold drink, it’s the picture perfect setting for the finish line. Choose your favourite main meal, plus either an entrée or dessert, and enjoy it with your choice of a local beer, glass of wine or soft drink - all included in your eXperience. A great ride deserves a great lunch. And in Warburton, we think you’ve earned it.
