In the magnificent setting of the Verdon Gorge, the deepest canyon in Europe, you will be invited to look up and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Europe's largest birds. The griffon vulture, with its 2.80-meter wingspan, is the most common. But with a bit of luck, you'll also spot the black vulture, or even the elusive Egyptian vulture.
With you: Raoul, a local ornithologist who is passionate and skilled at teaching, will share much more than just knowledge. He will explain how these birds were reintroduced in the 1990s, their essential role in the ecosystem, their flight and foraging techniques, their social behaviors, and the challenges they face today.
There's no need to be an expert! These outings are suitable for everyone, whether adults or children, and whether curious or passionate. They take place at a fixed observation point (no walking).
Equipment (spotting scopes, binoculars) is provided, and you will leave with new knowledge, striking images, and sometimes even beautiful photos.
A tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
