Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to breathe underwater?
PADI's Discover Scuba Diving is your answer — and Valparaíso
is the perfect place to experience it for the first time.
It all starts at Muelle Barón, right in the historic bay of
Valparaíso. Before entering the water, your certified PADI instructor
instructor will take you through a comprehensive briefing: you'll learn how to
use the gear, underwater communication signals, and
basic breathing techniques. No rush, no pressure — at your own
own pace.
When you're ready, we'll kit you out with a wetsuit, BCD,
regulator, mask, and fins. All inclusive, all fitted
specifically for you. We'll practice together on the surface until
until you feel completely confident. Only then do we descend.
Beneath the surface of Valparaíso Bay, a world awaits you
that most visitors never get to see. Rocky seabeds
covered with the marine life of the South Pacific: conger eels that
peeking out from between the rocks, octopuses that change color,
sea urchins, Chilean mussels, and a variety of fish that even surprise
experienced divers. Your instructor will be by your side
at all times, pointing out each species and guiding you through the
best spots for diving.
The dive lasts between 30 and 45 minutes at a maximum depth
of 12 meters — enough to enjoy the full diving experience
of scuba diving, in a safe and controlled environment.
As you come out of the water and take off your gear, with a view of the
UNESCO World Heritage hills of Valparaíso, your instructor will give you
will give you your PADI DSD certificate of participation and all the
information so that, if you want to take the next step, you can
continue with the Open Water course and get your international
international scuba diving license.
No previous experience is required. Just the desire to discover what
what lies beneath the surface of the Pacific.
