What you can expect

  • It was the Celts who founded the city of Metz. More specifically, the “Mediomatrici” tribe. This guided walking tour of Metz will allow you to discover the city's rich history spanning 3,000 years. During this 3-hour tour, we will travel through the ages – the city's origins, Roman rule, the Frankish period, integration into the Holy Roman Empire, annexation to the Kingdom of France, and finally annexation to the Second Reich. The numerous monuments, royal or medieval squares, streets, alleyways… will illustrate this fascinating tour. You will come away from this tour transformed.
