Activity itinerary

Corinth Canal

  • 15m
We’ll depart from Athens and follow the scenic coastal road to our first stop — the Corinth Canal. This impressive 19th-century engineering marvel connects the Ionian Sea with the Aegean Sea. (Short stop)

Epidavros

  • 2h
Your journey towards Epidaurus will continue with a 40 minute scenic drive along the coast of the Saronic Gulf. Among other things you will see the ancient stadium, the remainings of the ancient gymnasium and restaurant, the remainings of the temple of Artemis, as well as the very impressive Tholos, a round building with a labyrinth still existing in its basement, where some traditions say that the sacred snakes of Asclepius used to be kept. At the end of your guided tour you will be given some free time to walk up and down the theater or to stand in the center of the orchestra and speak out loud a monologue. The feeling of your voice spreading out all over the theater will be fascinating.

Nafplio

  • 2h
Our next destination is the charming seaside town of Nafplio — also known by its historic name, Napoli di Romania — considered one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Greece. Once the first capital of the modern Greek state, Nafplio is filled with neoclassical buildings, narrow cobblestone alleys, and elegant Venetian influences. As we stroll through its picturesque streets, we’ll take in the grandeur of the Palamidi Fortress perched high above the town, the iconic Bourtzi Castle rising from the middle of the harbor, and the beautiful Cathedral of Saint George, an important landmark of the old town. After our guided walk, you’ll have some free time to explore at your own pace — perhaps to enjoy a coffee by the sea, browse the local boutiques, or simply soak in the relaxed atmosphere of this captivating town. You will be able to stroll around, take pictures and have lunch in the "shade" of the tall neoclassical buildings next to Sydagma square if time allows it.

Archaeological site of Mycenae

  • 2h
  • Admission ticket included
Next, we continue our journey to the ancient citadel of Mycenae, the heart of one of the earliest and most legendary civilizations in the world. Revered for its connection to the epic tales of the Trojan War, Mycenae is said to be the kingdom of the mighty King Agamemnon — the leader of the Greek forces who sailed to Troy to reclaim the beautiful Helen. As we explore this remarkable archaeological site, we’ll pass through the iconic Lion’s Gate, the imposing entrance to the ancient city, and marvel at the massive Cyclopean Walls, whose enormous stones have stood for millennia. We’ll also visit the Treasury of Atreus (also known as the Tomb of Agamemnon), an extraordinary beehive-shaped tomb built for a Mycenaean king.

Athens

  • 30m
In the afternoon, we return back to Athens full of colorful images and unique smells.
