Know before you book

  • What if I don’t see the manta rays, We are dealing with mother nature after all so if the manta’s aren’t spotted on your particular Manta Ray Experience then instead you’ll experience one of Fiji’s most vibrant tropical reefs via a guided snorkeling trip.
  • You can also return on the next Manta Ray Experience that’s available for only FJD 85 per person hoping second time around the manta’s will be a little more hospitable
  • The cruise for Nadi and Denarau area departs Denarau at 8.45am and returns to Denarau at 6.00pm
  • You must contact South Sea Cruises at least 48 hours before your activity date to confirm your reservation and arrange Transport
  • If you do not require pick up, please find your own way to the meeting Point - Passenger Terminal, Denarau Marina
  • No Children Under Age 5

What you can expect

Your journey begins at Port Denarau, where you’ll step aboard our high-speed catamaran, ready for an adventure to remember! Sit back, feel the warm ocean breeze, and soak in breathtaking island views as we cruise through the stunning Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. Along the way, we’ll make stops to drop off and pick up guests at island resorts—giving you a glimpse of the remote paradise that awaits.

After around three hours of scenic cruising, we arrive at the Mantaray Island Resort, nestled in the heart of Fiji’s most vibrant marine ecosystem.

The Manta Ray Snorkeling Experience

Following a short briefing, it’s time for the main event! You'll hop into a tender boat and head out to the famous ‘manta channel’, where these graceful giants glide effortlessly through the water in their natural feeding ground. Whether you're an experienced snorkeler or a first-timer, our crew ensures a safe and unforgettable experience—buoyancy aids are available for those who need them.

Manta rays are wild creatures, and while we select dates based on ideal environmental conditions, we can’t guarantee sightings. But don’t worry—if they’re feeling shy, you’ll still enjoy an incredible guided snorkeling tour of one of Fiji’s most pristine reefs. Here, you’ll encounter a dazzling array of marine life, from reef sharks and moray eels to bright butterflyfish, starfish, and even octopuses.

After your swim, it's time to refuel with a delicious lunch at the laid-back ‘Manta Pizza Shack’, paired with a refreshing soft drink or bottled water. If you’re craving something extra, additional drinks can be purchased from the resort bar. (Vegetarian options are available—just let us know in advance!)

At 2:40 PM, we’ll board the catamaran for the return journey to Port Denarau. As the sun begins its descent, relax and relive the day’s highlights—whether it was gliding beside manta rays or marveling at the reef’s colorful residents, it’s a trip you’ll never forget!
