You will have the opportunity to visit some of the original sites of the project and Oppenheimer's birthplace, gaining a unique perspective on this world-changing event.

Join NY See Tours to explore Manhattan's Upper West Side and discover the city's atomic history. During the tour, you will visit the birthplace of Dr. Oppenheimer, known as the “Father of the Atomic Bomb,” and the sites of the Manhattan Project's origins.

The Manhattan Project, which led to the creation of the atomic bomb, began in Lower Manhattan in mid-June 1942 when General Leslie Groves established its first office. Dr. Oppenheimer was appointed the project's scientific director in the same year. Along with his team of brilliant scientists and engineers, he oversaw the construction and testing of the first atomic bomb at Los Alamos.
