What you can expect
On this half-day tour, travel 25 miles (40 km) east of Freeport to Lucayan National Park and experience the Grand Bahamian environment, including one of the world's longest underwater cave systems and the stunning sand of Gold Rock Beach.
Follow your guide as you enter the 40-acre (16-ha) park that was established by the Bahamian government in 1982. Along the way, hear the tales of the native Arawak Indians, who inhabited the island well before it was discovered by Christopher Columbus. Enter the vast tunnel system that was carved by years of flowing rainwater through the limestone rocks. Outside, see pine tree forests, pigeon plum trees, mangroves, and orchids as you continue your journey through the park.
Next, venture to Gold Rock Beach, voted one of the world's best beaches, to cool off in the teal waters or walk along the miles of white-sand beach. After some time to relax, climb back on your bus for the short trip back to your hotel.
