After your hotel pick-up, head to the square of the Ypapanti, the largest church and patron saint of the city. Stroll around the city's 12th century castle and see two houses preserved from 1821. See the first hospital of free Kalamata, after 300 years of slavery under the Turks. Admire the church of St. John, built inside a cave, before exploring the castle. Walk among the ruins of the salon of Isabella and her father William.

Head to the monastery of nuns, birthplace of the art of weaving silk handkerchiefs, Kalamata’s trademark well known throughout Greece. Your ride continues south, to the oldest church of the city, the church of Agioi Apostoloi, built in the 11th century A.D.
