Description

Experience Switzerland in a unique way as you journey by cogwheel train through picturesque Swiss countryside to Jungfraujoch—the Top of Europe. This full-day excursion allows ample time to explore the many wonders at the top of the mountain including the Sphinx Observatory and the Ice Palace.

Journey from Lucerne through the scenic Brünig Pass and along the shore of Lake Brienz as you make your way to the Bernese Highlands. Take a break in Interlaken—uniquely situated between two alpine lakes—before boarding the cogwheel train in Grindelwald. As you journey through the Kleine Scheidegg mountain pass to Jungfraujoch you can see stunning views of the world-famous triple peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.

Once at the top, use your free time to immerse yourself in the fascinating high-alpine wonderland of ice, snow, and glaciers. Visit the iconic Sphinx Observatory for the best views of the snow-capped peaks, neighboring countries, and Europe’s longest glacier—Aletsch Glacier. Use the Alpine Sensation subway system to experience the past, present, and future visions of Jungfraujoch as you travel from the observatory to the Ice Palace.

Strolling through the ice tunnels of the Ice Palace is an opportunity you don’t want to miss. Located in the heart of the glacier, this palace is filled with ice sculptures created by talented ice artists every year. Grab a bite to eat in the restaurant if you'd like. Then catch your train back down the mountain to return to Lucerne.

Great guide...Angelia I believe. She was helpful, organized, and informative! Too big of a group -would be better with around 30 people!! Too little time in Interlaken and Grindelwald

we loved the tour and all the activities, BUT the driver was terrible!!! he was on his mobile phone texting while driving all the time, and even forgot to take the exit back to Lucern - i needed to wake up the tour guide who needed to make him stop the bus and take the exit!! very weird!! he tour guide Lars Faber was very nice and organized.
