Commencing at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin, our one-day adventure in Guanacaste kicks off with a 45-minute hike through an awe-inspiring forest trail. Positioned near the entrance to the Las Pailas section of Rincón de la Vieja National Park, the La Oropéndola waterfall, boasting a remarkable 25-meter drop, gracefully descends into a turquoise pool, offering an ideal spot for a rejuvenating swim.
Upon reaching the canyon, a brief jaunt along a diverse trail leads to the river. To access the waterfall, you'll also take a short stroll within the river. Following a relaxing and refreshing interlude at the waterfall, we make our way back to Hacienda Guachipelin.
Our horseback rides predominantly traverse forest trails, with brief segments on the Hacienda's roads where there's traffic. An experienced sabanero guides this tour, and all participants are required to wear safety helmets.
Following this adventure, relish a sumptuous buffet lunch at La Hacienda Restaurant.
Finally, unwind in the natural hot springs of Hacienda Guachipelin, sourced from the Rio Negro and naturally heated by the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, the most active and extensive volcano in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Here, you can indulge in a spa-like experience by applying volcanic mud all over your body.
We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and attire such as long pants or knee-length shorts for this adventure.
