Visit Rocco Torro, South Africa’s authentic single-spirit agave distillery, in the timeless Karoo town of Graaff-Reinet. Discover how this distillery is redefining the premium spirit landscape by producing an African agave spirit that honours Mexican tradition while embracing African roots.

Begin your tour by learning about the distillery, which is designed, engineered, and dedicated solely to crafting world-class agave spirit – a hallmark of authenticity that few outside of Mexico can claim. Discover how the distillery is custom-designed to process Africa’s oversized agave piñas, including a steam autoclave — the global benchmark for agave cooking, used by leading tequila houses.

Learn about the process, from hand-harvesting the giants, to 72-hour steam cooking, fermentation, double distillation, and barrel aging in American and French oak barrels. Hear how each step mirrors the traditional methods safeguarded by Mexico’s Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT). While tequila remains a denomination of origin exclusive to Mexico, Rocco Torro voluntarily abides by CRT standards, ensuring its spirit offers the same meticulous quality and purity that tequila enthusiasts expect.

Finally, enjoy a curated tasting of premium agave spirits. Surrounded by the vast Karoo landscape, Africa's agave heartland. It is a truly authentic experience — a celebration of craft, culture, and the untamed essence of Africa.

The Tour & Tasting has a duration of 1 hour and takes place at the Rocco Torro Distillery in Cronje Street, Graaff-Reinet. Booking is essential
