Day 1: Arrival and Golden Hour

Arrive at Mfuwe International Airport and take a scenic 45-minute game-drive transfer to the lodge. Upon check-in, enjoy a refreshing “Welcome Dawa” cocktail and a light lunch overlooking the lagoon.

Settle in and shake off the travel fatigue. At 3:30 PM, head out for your first afternoon game drive. This is when the heat breaks and predators begin their patrol. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive leopard, a South Luangwa signature.

Take a boat safari or a late-afternoon drive focused on the Luangwa River banks. This is the best time to see massive “pods” of hippos and basking crocodiles. End the day with a private terrace dinner featuring Zambian-inspired cuisine, paired with a glass of South African wine.

Day 3: Secret Spots and Departure

Embark on a final, dawn game drive. Head toward the “Elephant Sands” area or deeper into the Mopane woodlands. The morning light is perfect for photography, capturing the silhouette of giraffes against the savanna.

Enjoy a “bush breakfast” set up in a remote, scenic clearing. Enjoy hot coffee, fresh fruit, and eggs cooked on-site while surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Visit the Kawaza Village or the Chipembele Wildlife Education Centre on your way out.
