Our meeting point is Casa Pumagui, a rural accommodation in Villaseca, Vicuña. There, we will check in participants, hand out the necessary equipment, and give a short briefing on safety instructions and preparations before we set off.
The hike starts in the early evening, with a 1.5-km walk and a 150-meter ascent to the first vantage point. From this point, we will watch the sunset over the Andes Mountains while sharing a brief gratitude practice and learning about the history of the village of Villaseca and the area's ancestral worldview.
As night falls, we'll continue to the second vantage point, where participants will settle into their seats for a guided meditation, accompanied by the sounds of Tibetan singing bowls and Andean melodies. A space designed for relaxing, reconnecting, and preparing for stargazing.
With the arrival of darkness, the sky becomes the main stage: the appearance of the stars and the Milky Way framed by the Andean mountains. We'll enjoy mountain teas before starting the stargazing session. Here, you'll learn to identify the constellations of the southern hemisphere, understand the movement of the celestial sphere, and discover how indigenous cultures used the sky to orient themselves and make sense of their lives. All of this in a unique setting surrounded by majestic mountains.
You'll have time to observe the sky with the naked eye and with astronomical binoculars, while interacting with the guide and getting answers to your questions. In addition, the experience will be captured in group photos under the stars, which will be sent to each participant in high-quality format.
The activity ends with a simple offering to Mother Earth and a return to the meeting point at Casa Pumagui.
