The shrine was built in 705 and has served as the guardian god of Arakura Village for over 1,300 years. It is a sacred place of worship where people seek protection against bad luck, promote harmony within their households, and pray for safe childbirth and successful child-rearing.

Lake Kawaguchi is the most popular of the Fuji Five Lakes, renowned for its stunning panoramic views of Mount Fuji from the shore. It has the longest shoreline among the Fuji Five Lakes. Lake Yamanaka, which is called "Swan Lake," is the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes, located near Mount Fuji in Japan.
