We will meet at the Trancoso Tourist Office, where we will start a walking tour through the historic old town. Our first stop will be the Chapel of Saint Bartholomew, one of the town's most symbolic sites.
We will continue to the statues of King Dinis and Queen Santa Isabel, where we will learn about significant episodes in Portuguese medieval history, before passing through the ancient Portas d'El Rei, one of the most iconic entrances to the wall.
Along the way, we will discover the enigmatic figure of Bandarra, passing by his statue and the Casa do Bandarra, where we will explore the impact of his prophecies. Afterwards, we will visit the Isaac Cardoso Jewish Culture Center, which is essential for understanding the strong Jewish presence in Trancoso.
The tour then takes us to Poço do Mestre and the curious Casa do Gato Preto, two places steeped in local history. We will continue to St. Peter's Church and the Pelourinho, symbols of the town's social and political organization over the centuries.
