What you can expect

  • After being picked up from your hotel, the adventure awaits:
You will climb into a small, open buggy, with the mountains of the Taurus Mountains near Alanya in front of you.
First, you'll travel along wide, bumpy gravel roads. The buggy vibrates, small stones fly to the side, and the wind whips your face. You quickly realize: Driving is easy, but the terrain makes it exciting – every pothole, every bump makes the buggy jump. Dense pine forests to the right and left, with occasional views of Alanya far below and the sea as a blue strip on the horizon.
Then things get narrower: a narrow path winds its way up the slope, hairpin bend after hairpin bend. In front of you, you see the cloud of dust from the buggy ahead of you; behind you, you hear the roar of the other engines. You steer around tight bends, feeling the tires spin briefly as the path becomes steeper. In some places, you drive close to rocks, while in others, the view suddenly opens up – deep valleys, green slopes, small mountain villages in the distance. Once you reach the top, there's a short break: engine off, silence. Just the crackling of the cooling engines and, somewhere nearby, a stream. You get out. Your clothes are covered in dust, you're sweaty and grinning. Time for photos with the buggies against the backdrop of the mountains, a sip of water, a joke with the other drivers, and then it's time to move on. Now comes the best part: the riverbed. The guide waves, gives the signal, and you roll into the shallow water one by one. At first, the water only laps gently against the tires, then the ground becomes uneven, with stones under the water and small dips. You accelerate, the water splashes up over the bonnet, and cold droplets hit your face. In some places, there's real mud – you let the buggy plow through it, feeling it briefly slip away. Laughter and cheers from all around, the water, the mud, the roar of the engines – a pure sense of adventure. In between, you drive through puddles and muddy stretches in the forest; the ground is soft, and the buggy leaves tracks. Sometimes you have to grip the steering wheel more firmly when you encounter a side slope or a deep rut. That's exactly what makes it so appealing: it's not dangerous, but you feel like you're really off-road – away from roads, hotels and beach loungers. Finally, the path leads downhill again. The air gets warmer, the dust sticks to your face, but you are completely in the moment: accelerating, steering, dodging, laughing. When you get back to the base station and the engines are turned off, you only then realize how loud it was. You get out, see your hands smeared with dirt, the grime on your glasses – and that's exactly what shows you how much fun you just had.
A buggy safari in the mountains of Alanya is exactly this mix of adrenaline, nature, water and mud: not complicated, but intense; not dangerous, but exciting – and at the end, you feel like you've had a little adventure in the heart of the Taurus Mountains.
