Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta was the prettiest resort in the area and the location was great. The food was amazing, especially at La Cevicheria and the breakfast buffet. The service at the restaurants and standard pool areas was also very good, the workers were very nice. Our view from our room was beautiful and there’s flowers planted in front of most of the balconies. Unfortunately, the VIP service was terrible and not worth the extra money we spent. To gain access to most of the facilities (adult pool & hot tub, beach bar), you need to be of Fiesta Club status. However, the VIP service, especially at the adult pool and our personal concierge, ruined our experience. The adult pool only had two waiters and they would forget our orders everyday and would come back half an hour later asking what we ordered again and then would just give us the wrong drinks. We made sure to tip them a lot everyday as well, but this still happened. When you first check into the hotel, they assign you a concierge that forces you to walk around with them for an hour. They knew that we just got back from traveling all day and we were tired, we asked if we could please go to our room and at least change and take off our backpacks but they still forced us to walk with them. One person in our party is disabled and the walk ruined his mobility and experience for the entire trip because the concierge walked too fast and made him take the stairs instead of using the ramps. Don’t get VIP.

Penthouse was misleading, every room looks the same, only thing that changes is elevation of room, they all have a balcony. limited selection on alcohol, very cheap and had to pay “premium spirits”, was not worth the price, other resorts near it are definitely better.

We travel a lots, but this was a worst trip ever. The resort is outdated. The rooms are small. We stayed on the club level, but so disappointed. The food is worst. We got there around 6pm, couldn’t eat at any restaurants since they were all booked. So they told us to eat at the buffet. We were so shocked when we got to there. It’s a pool eating place. There was a rolling cart with a few trays of food. The food was so bad and not much to choose from. The meat was so dried. We didn’t eat anything. The kids asked if we could leave the next day. On the 2nd day, we were even more disappointed. It was a first time we ever saw an all inclusive resort that has just a couple of food trays for lunch buffet. They left most of the food trays empty. Flies and bees were all over the deserts. The water was cold. The beach was not that nice. There were so many small blue jelly fishes, so people were scared and got out of the water. We had to change our plan. We stayed for only 3 nights instead of 6 nights. If we could find earlier flights, we would have left the next day. We stayed at Grand Fiesta Americana Cancun many times, but this is no where close. If you travel a lots and have high standards, this is not for you.

We have stayed at the Fiesta Americana 3 times over the past 8 years and while it is still good value for the money, I would have to say there have been some cutting of corners when it came to the buffet and themed dinner events. Not a lot of Vegetarian options at lunch--maybe a veggie dog or veggie burger could be added to the menus? There have been some nice improvements to the property but sadly most of these(Adults Only Pool and bar, Mediterranean Specialty Dining Restaurant, and Veranda Restaurant for Breakfast) were only accessible to Club Level Guests. It would be nice if there was at an adults only area pool for regular guests. We had a ton of screaming kids in the pool the week we stayed and didn't feel like paying even more money for a day pass to swim in a quiet pool. Many other resorts (even cheaper ones) have an adults only area, just something that Fiesta should consider...... The specialty restaurants were mostly good and would say the Asian restaurant was very good. Our room on the 5th floor had a nice view and was clean and fairly modern. The bathroom was fine but not perfect...paint, finishings, tile etc were looking a bit worn and hot water in shower could be hit or miss. Staff were helpful and polite, but not quite as exuberant as year's past. We tipped well, but noticed a lot of people were not tipping, so maybe thats part of it? Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but found it didn't quite live up to our stays of year's past, but still good.

The property was perfect for our family traveling over the holidays. The property was quaint and had a friendly vibe to it. We traveled with our 3 children and they loved the pool, the water aerobics, and exploring on the beach. The service was great!
