The above was not the house we stayed in. The realtor called us the weekend before the trip to say the house was not available so we had to pick another house.

Comfortable

Great location with enough beds for a good group of people.Well equipped kitchen and nice deck to view the ocean. Still making repairs to cottage from recent hurricane but nothing to stop the enjoyment of the property. Better Beach Rentals was great to work with.

Railing was not properly installed and was dangerous. Management company is horrible!

First let me start by saying that it was a good thing we did not have small children with us on this trip. The deck railing that appeared to have been newly installed following Isaias was not attached to the post and was not stable. If someone had leaned on the railing, the railing would have failed and that person could have been injured. We told the management company who claimed to start a work order. However on that same call we requested extra blankets as the upstairs room temperatures were very hard to regulate. They said they would bring more blankets and never came. Our friend staying in that room had to sleep with a jacket as a blanket as that room was freezing and the others were warm. We also reached out to the property management 3 times prior to our trip to find out what kind of coffee maker was in the kitchen. They finally replied to our email on our second day of the trip. For those that need to know before your trip - the coffee maker is a standard drip variety. As for positives, there is plenty of deck space, the kitchen has been nicely redone and is well appointed and the location on the island is great but that's about all. The beds were as hard as concrete and the other furniture in the house is very worn. The under side of the house took substantial damage in the hurricane and is unusable so if getting to the beach easily or an outdoor shower is important to you, you might want to make sure those repairs were made before your trip. We were there in winter so those weren't as important at the time. All in all, we would warn others from booking this property unless under new management, repairs are made and new beds are purchased.

Love Oak Island

Wonderful time with family over the holiday. Would be happy to stay same place again but may need more room next time. Lovely, clean beach. Deck with amazing view.

Tomorrow wonderful family Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful stay here with our family. What an awesome location and really couldn't have asked for anything more from the home. Only thing that I could see possibly changing would be some new mattresses on some of the beds and closing in the plexiglass windows in the one bedroom. Other than that perfect. Thank you

Family vacation

Great family vacation house for making memories! This vacation was a gift to our parents as we have never been on a family vacation as adults, 10 adults total, and we didn't want to leave. The beach front porch with rocking chairs was a favorite place to sit, laugh and have fun. Nice size bedrooms with comfortable bedding, ceiling fans and scenery. We were worried about only having 2 bathrooms for 10 adults when we first booked however that never became an issue. The fully stocked kitchen is big with plenty of seating for meals and lots of room for moving around. This house is at the west end of the island so the beach was not crowded, you step off the porch steps and you're basically on the beach! The amenities for this house lists a grill however we could not find it...this is the only negative that I can say about the house. We bought one and took it home when we left so problem solved! I highly recommend this property and the beach front view will not disappoint!

Beautiful

The house was wonderful...kitchen would use a little upgrade...but had everything we needed. The cleaning crew needed to clean the fans...in one of the bedrooms the dust was so thick we were afraid to turn the fan on...afraid it would fly everywhere. But the view, walk to the beach and to the point was perfect...will stay again. Thanks for sharing your home.
