Horrible experience

I would do zero stars if possible. I tried to cancel my reservation after seeing a bad review. I tried a month before my 100% refund was up. I messaged and called the host. The host called back not knowing who i was and told me they would call me back anf never did. VRBO kept telling me they would take care of it and the refund would take up to 7 days. Each time I called they lied because I guess the host has to okay the cancellations. He never did. So now my bank is fighting for me to get my money back when I should just be refunded.

Nice apt, but illegally listed

The apartment was really nice and the location was great. However, upon arrival, the check in system wasn't clear. I had to contact the host for clarity. Also, being told to wait at the garage door entrance and "hopefully it will open in a few mins or ask someone leaving to let you in" is sketchy. Once inside the apartment, there was a notice to the landlord about his illegal subletting and a threat to terminate the lease. On day 2, the elevator code had been changed and we were unable to use it. The host did not respond when asked about the code, forcing us to climb 9 floors up by stairway. A security guard saw us in the parking garage and questioned us about whether we were residents. I would not stay here again and I do not advise anyone else to do so.
